This is truly an "interesting" café for all the right reasons. Its a place you'd go if you want to try something that's a little bit different but outside the city . The first thing you'll notice as you enter is an array of awards on the outside wall. The awards denote a consistent and conscientious approach that has made this café popular, despite its rather remote location. The has been in operation since 2013, when two brothers Aiden and David set up a café in their dad's old workshop. It has a warm welcoming feeling, and one thing that marks it out is the vast array of antiques and memorabilia scattered throughout the eating area. Some are for sale but most serve to remind us of times long gone. The menu is quite good, focusing on traditional dishes and incorporating both a separate and a afternoon selection. The coffee (cappuccino) I had was good and the accompanying toasted chicken pesto sandwich was a real tasty delight. If you're prepared to travel a little bit, this place makes.. lot of sense if you're after something to break the routine of homogeneous city cafés. Would definitely recommend without hesitation and will be back. Cool spot with very friendly & helpful staff.Good healthy food served with a smile. There is plenty of free private parking and they even have there own resident hen. value for money much more affordable then City prices. Lovely enthusiastic that attend to you. But portion size really not all that big Bone China tea sets to beat the band and really not suited to groups of more than 4 persons. Ideally for 2 persons wishing for a chat and a good coffie and a quick get away from the city. A 7/🔟 Disappointed with our visit yesterday. The team were overloaded (only 2 members despite it being busy) and this likely played a factor. Others have reported similar experiences with regard value for money in the past though. The café felt it was better suited for meeting friends for tea + cake (the chocolate browny was very good) then anything more substantial. Paid over €70 for sandwiches, soup, pot of very weak tea for a handful of people (€9 sandwich was poor value for money for example, soup had far too much pepper). Doubtful we will return based on this experience. Wow I had drove past this place so many times. Visiting today was impressed with the space in the restaurant/cafe or antique shop... Had was very happy with the quality of the food and coffee is beautiful. The are kind and friendly.. well worth taking time to visit and relax in this unique place. I always enjoy visiting The Workshop. Went there for today. It's a quaint little place full of wonderful trinkets and bric-a-brac. I had French Toast with bacon and Caramel Macchiato. Would recommend both wholeheartedly. The service was also super friendly as always and I am already looking forward to coming back again. A unique cafe. Good selection of Tea. Highly recommended. Had lovely homemade scones and coffee here recently, the food was lovely but the service was lacking. We waited for ages to be seated when there were clearly empty tables, but nobody seemed to notice us waiting. It took ages for them to take our order, but they were polite and pleasant when they eventually came around. There were also 3 tables that needed clearing, since before we sat down, which looked very bad. Don't go here if you are on the way to the airport! Went for a brunch last weekend gave our order which included food and 2 orange juices and three coffees. 45 minutes later still no drinks let alone food. When we enquired were told would be at least another 15. The can't really be blamed as everyone seemed very young with no senior management to be seen on site which is unusual since I would of assumed Saturday would of been one of the busy days. Weird that considering it is meant to have a food offering there was no chef either. We just ended up leaving after wasting an hour. They serve and lunch (soups/sandwiches) and they use a lot of local suppliers Tea is served in vintage fine bone china Friendly and reasonable pricing Highly recommend a visit Beautiful, quirky place behind the airport. are lovely and the coffee is great. Disappointed they had nothing vegan to offer and nothing to be tweaked either even though the menu is large and some things could be turned into a vegan option with minimum amount of effort. Very busy on Saturdays, so booking is probably preferable, but we walked in and got seated fairly quickly! Indoor and outdoor seating available. Fabulous array of desserts which taste fab! Large selection of speciality teas available too, and the food looked also! Such a wonderful place to treat yourself. Their cakes are absolutely to die for and dont skip on their hot chocolate!
