Great place to be. We stayed there for one night. It's quiet and the staff is helpful. Fantastic Campsite by Brusand Beach! This campsite boasts an amazing location right next to the famous Brusand sandy and dunes. It's a large site with plenty of spots for both tents and vehicles. The service here is consistently friendly. They use a convenient electronic card system where you load money for showers, the kitchen, and other amenities. You also pay your basic fees at a self-service station, and the staff are happy to guide you if you need assistance. A major plus is how the toilets and showers are, and for once, there are enough of them for everyone! The kitchen facilities are also very good. This was our second visit, and we keep coming back because the place is so functional, clean, and the is simply stunning. Highly recommended! A wonderful place. You'ld have to be really looking hard tipp find anything to criticize. Lots to praise. Super friendly and competent staff. Well organized and very fair and efficient method for charging for incidental costs (water for dishes, showers, electricity). Since people's needs are so different, this is a great way to keep things transparent. We had about €12 total extra costs for 3 days. The pitches are picture perfect. Good access to the beach. Kid friendly. Coop nearby for shopping. They even put out the best weather fod us ;0) Great place. We'll come back. Thanks Beautiful campsite directly at the beach. Nice and sheltered by trees, bushes and the natural dunes. Compared to Ogna Camping it was much better to stay here as a cyclist cause it was wind protected, many benches to sit on and a nice inside kitchen area which was perfect on a rainy day. Everything was perfectly and in good condition. I’m glad I met the two young ladies at the reception when I arrived. Especially the girl with brown hair was super friendly, helpful and gave me advice for the perfect tent spot. I felt very welcome!☺️ (No comparison to the slightly unfriendly owner (?)) There is one thing that which was quite annoying: literally everything was on charge although the spot was already quite pricey (330NOK for 1 tent without car) ..like even for warm water dish washing you had to pay, of course for shower or every power socket was locked so you weren’t able to even get a tiny bit of electricity for your phone or something. - Ridiculous! Nevertheless I recommend that camp site. The campsite is well located near a beautiful beach, but our stay was very stressful. You receive a single card that you must charge with 100 NOK to pay for electricity, showers, and even washing the dishes – you only get 3 minutes of hot water. If you have kids, the playground looks nice but is actually dangerous. The end of the zip line can cause serious injuries, and the boat there has many rotten screws. Last but not least, there is a man telling you how to empty your tanks and insisting you the concrete with fresh water afterwards. He is always there, telling you to do things differently – turn your car, go back, again. You end up feeling micromanaged and belittled. We recently stayed at Brusand Camping with our small children. The campsite itself is great: well-maintained, facilities, and a beautiful location close to the beach. Nothing to complain about in terms of infrastructure. However, our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by how the situation was handled when we had to leave early due to incoming bad weather. We had booked and paid for 3 nights, but decided to leave after the first night because packing up in heavy rain with little kids would have been very difficult. We politely asked the owner if there was any understanding or flexibility possible — not necessarily a full refund, but at least some consideration of the situation. We fully understand that last-minute changes can be inconvenient for the campsite too, and we were willing to accept paying more than just one night. But there was absolutely no empathy or willingness to talk. The only response we got was: “You booked 3 nights, so you pay for 3 nights.” When we ended the conversation by saying “Have a nice day,” the owner replied: “I am having a great day — I run a successful business.” That kind of arrogance, especially when someone is asking for help in a reasonable tone, was both surprising and disappointing. The camping itself may be a lovely place, but experiences like these can discourage people from returning or recommending it. Hospitality is about more than location and facilities — it’s also about how you treat people, especially in moments where a bit of empathy makes all the difference. Edit after owners reply: The owner’s response is misleading, and it’s disappointing to see an attempt to appear more reasonable online than how we were actually treated in person. Let’s be clear: this was never about the money — it’s a small amount. It was about basic human decency. Sadly, this experience revealed that earning a few extra buck's was more important than showing understanding to a young family in a difficult moment. The argument made at the counter — “hotels do this too” — doesn’t apply here. Hotels work with reserved, limited-capacity rooms. This was an open camping spot that couldn't even be pre-booked. There was no loss on their side, just a choice not to be flexible. Yes, we checked in through the self-service machine. And yes, we left around 15:00 after just one night, not trying to hide anything — we were upfront and even offered to pay for more than one night because we understood we left later than the standard checkout time. But instead of meeting us halfway, we were charged for the full three nights. We simply asked for a bit of consideration, knowing how tough it is to travel with small kids in incoming bad weather. The answer: a flat no, backed up by a cold reference to “the system.” Let’s be honest — systems don’t decide. People do. And in this case, the decision was made to keep our money, not to help us. If this is how guests are treated when plans change unexpectedly, it should give future visitors something to think about. Great location or not, hospitality is measured in how people act when a little flexibility is called for. If you value empathy as much as scenery, this may not be the place for you.
