Friendly staff and great food! We had a nice walk by the river. The castle grounds were cordoned off. Private property, there is no sense to come because you cannot visit grounds and castle. It not for visiting! It‘s a private area, where the inhabitants make very clear that you are not welcome. Only weddings etc are a reason to go there - if you are invited. Good visually pleasure round walking . Beautiful location and great views of the castle and church. Unfortunately the trail shown on the posted signs that circles the buildings was closed off by a gate at the east side barn. Had to backtrack back to the church parking where we started instead of doing a loop hike. Örtofta Castle was an excellent venue for our workshop. With rooms suitable for meetings, lovely grounds and surroundings as well as excellent food and service, this venue suited all of our needs and more. The location was a bonus as our international attendees could easily get there on public transport. Fantastic service, great rooms and dinner!
