Slovak Taj Mahal, which tells love story about two people who loved each other despite conventions. SIC SEPARAT AMARA MORS Nagyon szép látványosság. 2018 Surprisingly beautiful from the inside. Beautiful and romantic story behind it. They call it a Taj Mahal of Slovakia. Genius Loci. 5€entry We were just passing by and decided to stop and have a look. It turned out that you can get inside and not only look at the magnificent decoration of the mausoleum, but also learn a lot of interesting things about it. So close to the main road and so peaceful at the same time! I have already driven by so many times but never stopped. Until now and I don't regret. The love story of the lord and his wife who didn't come from noble family would deserve a movie. This mausoleum is not just a nice building, it is the memorial of a great love of two great people. Built in just 18 months it is also one of the architectural marvels. Very modest from the outside, reminding me of something from Lord of The Rings, to very decorated on the inside. Plus with very detailed and professional tour from very nice and friendly guide, it was a very good choice for hour and a half of my time. Nádherné miesto a veľmi pekný výklad od pani sprievodkyne Driving to Kosice and stopped here. Worth the visit! My first visit there. From outside you expect just another stone building but interior is spectacular. Very unexpected and such a beautiful... Sehr nette Führerin!! Veľmi pekný zážitok, milá sprievodkyňa, oplatilo sa vidieť Architecturally, quite a unique structure not to be commonly found around here. Duke Andrassy truly brought a piece of avant-garde art (at the time) into the sleepy countryside. Definitively worth it. It's relatively just a short stop of 15-20 minutes and the lady giving a guided tour is thorough and lovely (at least the one we had). absolutely great... unconspicuous mausoleum from the outside, hiding an amazing story of love and devotion. The Slovak (or Hungarian, historically speaking) Taj Mahal, indeed. The interior is a gem of secession-styled sculptures, mosaics and intarsions mostly by German artists, made of marble sourced from all continents. Surprisingly preserved in 100% condition. Profesional and very knowledgeable guide. Fun fact, it includes a tomb of the Count Andrassy's dachshund behind the main mausoleum grounds. Fantastic place with amazing architecture especially from inside 🙂 Don't hesitate to buy a ticket for entry, it's worth that money. Architectural treasure 🙂 Je to prekrásne, pietne miesto a dôkaz nekonečnej lásky dvoch ľudí.Vo vnutri ukážka práce starých majstrov vyšperkovaná k dokonalosti,ku ktorej prispel aj veľmi milý a pútavý výklad pani Evky.Akoby odjakživa patrila k tomuto miestu.Venovala sa nám naozaj celým ♥️,za čo jej veľmi pekne ďakujeme a prajeme len pozorných a neuponáhľaných turistov. Absolutely outstanding place, worth visiting. Looks a little bit simple from outside, but it feels like opening the treasure when you enter. The guide is very kind person, expert in the topic. If you are around, do not skip the spot.
