Fantastic views of the surrounding landscape. Quite some of the walls remain intact. are under renovation novadays. Due to that they don't look so good with scaffolding. But the view from above is brethless. Moreover, you have to quite long, hard road to get to the ruins. As expected, judging by my visits to other Slovak castles and ruins, there really isn’t much to see here beyond the scenery. The itself is destroyed, leaving behind just a few scattered remnants. The path leading up to it—like many others in Slovakia—isn't exactly well-marked, so you'd definitely want to wear proper hiking shoes and aim for dry weather. One cool thing is that you can actually help out the volunteers working on the restoration. They welcome people bringing sand or stones to assist with the project. That said, at this pace, the reconstruction could take even longer than the one at Červená Horka. Overall, it’s worth coming here for the views—but that’s pretty much it. It's an amazing place where it's good to get back repeatedly. 20 minutes to go and a pleasant view for tens of kilometers. Every single visit it's different weather, light, and wind, but always outstanding. A little hike with an interesting ruin. There is a historical path leading to the top where on the ground you can see wheel marks from the old horse carriages. Its not the easiest up to the ruins, doubly so if you participate in the volunteer effort and carry something useful up the track to the - I expect many a male has regretted showing off how much they can carry by the top :) I took it easy but still felt like I'd turned into a gibbon by the time I got to put my two buckets down.. The view from the top is pretty good, depending on the time of the day, ideally the light doesn't pick out the ugly quarry on the Hungarian border!. The is bigger than it appears from the bottom, we got there in the evening and had a flock of raven calling as they headed towards Zadielska dolina, very atmospheric.
