Very scenic driving route through a valley and acrross a mountain pass. Quite small road, so i would not recommend it to anyone who just arrived in Ireland and is not used to their rental car and the driving conditions. But apart from that it is a really great with fantastic views and some spots to park and walk a bit as well. One of the most amazing spots to to in Ireland. But it is only suitable for experienced drivers. Not suitable for bulky cars. Well they views are fantastic, if you aren't a good driver of your car stay off this because it's full of blind corners and dips and 90% of it is wide enough for one car so if you happen to meet someone either them or you will have to reverse back up or down the with a fairly big drop off to one side, I was lucky only met the one car , it's just a for about 25km and I'll repeat very narrow road, pictures don't really do it justice Lovely green lane pass on the Beara peninsula with fabulous views. Not for camper vans or large cars, though. Best traversed on a motorcycle. By far the best in Ireland,short but seriously breathtaking.Only one car wide, the gets perilously close to the edge! Delighted to be back in beautiful Cork and Kerry today for my 29th County High Point, Knockboy Mountain 706m, in the breathtaking Shehy mountain range! Fantastic hike with great weather conditions but admittedly the most terrifying and exhilarating I have ever done on the Priests Leap, stunning scenery, but I must admit i never took my eyes of the road! Lovely. The to it is very narrow and can be tricky if you meet oncoming traffic. Very few sign posts when there to where you can walk. But amazing scenery with breathtaking views. A missed opportunity to tell the story of persecution, adventure and escape... No information signs; I had to look it up on the Internet... Crazy to think that the leading up here was once the main from Bantry to Kenmare! Only the most experienced drivers should attempt the drive, extreme care is required and be prepared to reverse 500m to allow another vehicle pass.
