We went to get a stamp for the Ireland's Way passport, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We decided to have lunch while we were there and both had the steak sandwich, it was the most incredible steak sandwich I've ever had everything tasted amazing. The South Kerry Rural Men's Group recently visited The Abbey Hotel for a meal, the food and friendly staff were of the highest quality, the group has seen on their travels over the last 20 years. the group will definitely be calling back again when they are visiting Cork. Friendly family hotel in the beautiful southwest of Ireland. It was the only room we could find in the region due to there being several festivities during the June Bank Holiday. Everything was very clean, in working order and the service is very friendly and welcoming, but we found the room expensive as it is very simple and could do with an update. Breakfast (not included in the price) was simple but tasty. I would suggest to add more fruit/veg options (apples, bananas, cooked mushrooms, etc). We didn't try the restaurant, but the place was packed and buzzing, so that must be a good sign. All in all a good option if you just need a bed and a hot breakfast in the morning. Lovely family run hotel clean comfortable rooms and great food and drinks at affordable prices. A great location to explore Cork and kerry.
