Seen from outside, I never cease to be amazed by how Italy has the ability to let things crumble to pieces. You can tell that the building is in real bad shape. The location is not exactly manicured as it should and the signs are sketchy in order to get there. I get the impression that Italy has a really hard time banking on their massive history. Maybe they just take it too much for granted...Decadence, sometimes ignorance. I was not allowed to enter the Villa Verdi since there was no English speaking guide, though I drove a lot to visit this place. Have only pictures made in the night. All beautiful at least from outside like all of Busseto and its museums and houses concerning Verdi but nobody answers the phone. Very recommendable to anyone who loves Verdi and classic music. His birthhouse, Verdis national museum, and so on.. All here. Worth walking around. This is a small authentic italian restaurant on around the Eiffel Tower. The streets were quiet as it was a Monday but the restaurant was buzzing with a large party. Very authentic food and staff and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Their house cocktail of Prosecco with Limoncello was fab!!! Visiting Cremona one must go see Villa Verdi, a place where time stopped. Literally. Everything is the same since the death of the brilliant composer and wonderful human being. Go there and let yourself delighted by a story that will stay with you forever (just learn Italian because the guide does not speak English or make sure someone who knows it is there to translate). Fresh place in the hot summer, amid endless fields of wheat and corn, calm streams towards the river Po, smell of cut grass and lindens It’s still closed! Not possible to visit the house anymore. Very worthwhile for all music lovers. Very well informed and enthusiastic guide for the guided tour.
