Very nice and well maintained church and Abbey that is still functioning. The Abbey is from the 12th century and is a "daughter" of the famous French Abbey Clairvaux. The church has fine details and beautiful fresco's Beautiful little monastery. It has a parking lot for caravans and mobile homes-perfectly suitable to spend the night when travelling north or south. Ancient Cistercian monastery with modern Lessions. Worth going out of the way! Wonderful location with a nice little shop where you can buy things the monks produce. Moving, peaceful place full of history and beauty. I was on a spiritual retreat and stayed here at the Abby. Food was good atmosphere perfection rooms were very modest but perfect for our needs. It is a very short walk to the neighborhood bar. It is more like a restaurant in the morning wonderful coffee and sweets for breakfast. Yummy. Bar setting for lunch and supper with sandwiches, sweet treats, pizza, coffee, cappuccino, and booze. This is a beautiful church in a peaceful village. Excellent place to visit. The monastery is a beautiful building and entry is free. Kept us waiting for half an hour then decided that they were closed!
