Visitamos en julio Montecillo y al siguiente fin de semana no dude en llevar an mis amigos de Guatemala que tenían muchísimas ganas de conocer La Rioja y la elaboración de sus fantásticos vinos. Primera vez visitando una bodega y la experiencia fue de diez. Ambas chicas muy simpáticas y atentas en todo momento. Cabe destacar que vinimos a pie y a la salida se puso a llover y una de ellas, la que nos hizo la visita, se ofreció a llevarnos hasta Navarrete en coche. Muy recomendable. Tour wasn't in English, but I still enjoyed it. Amazing place to see. After a tour through the Rioja where most of the bodegas were closed for a spontanious visit and/ or buying wine, Montecillo was a warm welcome! Lovely wines, lovely hostess, super enthusiastic without being pushy. We tasted a lot of different wines and it was hard to make a decision! Ended up with a couple of boxes of very good Rioja and some special bottles of anis…. Just the Bodega we were looking for! Elisa provided us the premium tour and it was outstanding! Her knowledge is extensive and her energy unlimited. The duration of the tour was appropriate for exposure to the workings of the winery and tasting/discussion the wines. We had engaging discussions with Elisa about the wine and Rioja Region, we laughed and thoroughly enjoyed our time! This winery is a must for the wine, the education and the laughter!
