Basílica de San Gregorio Ostiense

Sorlada, Spain Basilica

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Quite a bit of work to remediate the structural deterioration has been undertaken over the last few years. Try and get inside to see the highly decorated plasterwork ceilings and walls. Peaceful place to rough camp. Lovely pale skies. Beautiful find of the beaten path! IMPRESIONANTE!!!! One year ago today it was the worst and in a spiritual way the best day of my 33 days journey on El Camino de Santiago. My legs were extremely swallowed and the blisters all over my feet were killing me. I was for 4 hours alone limping on El Camino, which is extremely unusual not see some pilgrims for that long. Not a single soul to be seen, just myself, the birds, and God. I was literally on my last legs, thinking I would not be able to reach the next town. The only sight of civilization I had for a while was, what seemed to be a castle from the distance, the Basílica San Gregorio Ostiense. Now I won't rest until I return to Spain and go visit the Basílica that became a beacon of hope to my quest to survive. Lovely place, but needs some emergency repairs I think! Look around the back!
