Even thought some large trees were removed the final result is beautiful. They redid the children's playground. Created more of an open space while keeping enough large trees to provide shade. Added a unique bandstand/stage for various events. Everything from bands for adults to exciting children's activities. The design of the bandstand is creative with a roof that looks like a crown of autumn leaves. Besides the small aviary that was retained, several poles with "apartment" style bird houses were added thru out the park. Seating added for bandstand and lots of park benches sprinkled around. Great place relax and people watch, see events or just sit and reflect. Great job Figueira da Foz on the outcome!! This gardens are well taken care of and are the right place for the little ones to run around, enjoy the playground, walk with family, take pictures. A lot of benches where parents can sit and chill and there is a lot of shade provided by big old trees. Amazing place. Been here for Christmas and the Christmas Garden was just wonderful. There was a sort of petting zoo, photo ops with eagles and owls, arts and crafts and even supervised adventure courses for kids. All absolutely free. Congratulations to the organisation of the event.
