Great night out in Old Town Sofia. Typical Irish bar, serving Murphys and Guiness. Bar shows live sports and has live music so it's nice and lively. Popped in for a quick drink. Very nice relaxed atmosphere, definitely a place to go to see sports on the screens. Great selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Service was very good. Well worth a visit. After I lived in Ireland for 3 years, this is the place I love to go when I miss the Irish atmosphere. Everything, from the smell, the food and the river of beers remind me of my green island. Mainly populated by foreigners, also prices are pretty high compared to the normal Bulgarian standard. Update: even better in 2024 for brunch The place to be pour boire une Guinness en regardant les rosbifs se faire cuire par les Bleus ! I visited the pub on a quiz night so it was quite busy but for some reason they had only one waitress working which made the service a bit slow. Nevertheless, the lady was very friendly, polite and professional. The bar seemed cleaner than a usual pub, in my opinion, which is great. The food was incredible. Their fries and burgers are amazing. However, I suspect that the fries are their most popular food so the price of them was unusually high. Overall great spot. Authentic Irish pub, multiscreen TVs for watching sport. Irish food menu. Outside smoking area. Very quiet when I was in there, found it expensive and I fear prices will rise once the country joins the Euro in a few weeks. Served by Bulgarian staff and didn't have that Irish welcome or the craic. Will visit again to watch the hoops play, but for regular drinking I will use the other Irish bars in Sofia. Great bar prices for the drinks were very reasonable for a city bar. Mirra, the bartender, made us feel very welcome and could not do enough to help. It was a great place for a get together. Good vibes and good food. What impressed the most was the on Friday karaoke nights. 😁 Delicious food, good whiskey. Top location. Quite loud music and I didn't like the band. Great Irish bar in the heart of Sofia and off the main strip. Branco & his son Anthony really know how to take care of you. Did not have anything to eat because we came after dinner to enjoy some football. They accompanied everyone and at reasonable prices. Thank you Branco & Anthony keep up the good work! I recently visited J.J. Murphy's, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The most notable issue was the incredibly slow service. Despite the restaurant not being overly crowded, it took far too long for our orders to be taken, and even longer for the food to arrive. We had to repeatedly ask the staff for updates, but each time we were met with vague responses and further delays. When the food finally arrived, it was undercooked. The main dish, which was supposed to be the highlight of the meal, was barely warm and lacked the proper texture and flavor. It was clear that it hadn’t been prepared properly, and it left us questioning the quality and care put into the cooking. Unfortunately, this wasn’t an isolated incident, as other diners around us seemed to be having similar issues. The overall atmosphere, which could have been pleasant, was overshadowed by the frustration of waiting and the disappointment of receiving poorly cooked food. J.J. Murphy's might have potential, but the slow service and lack of attention to food preparation make it difficult to recommend. I hope they can address these issues, but as it stands, I wouldn’t be in a hurry to return. Do not ever get a pint of Guinness out of this place the people are dog ignorant spend your money somewhere else Great place, really have the like you’re in an Irish bar ☺️🤘🏻 Guinness was lovely, same price like most places in Dublin 6€. The staff was lovely. I went there with my partner he’s from Donegal so we had Irish judge 😉 Highly recommend 🍺Cheers This place is not what it used to be anymore. If you just want to have a drink and enjoy the vibes, you'll probably be fine. But the food is another story... Me and my friends got sick the same evening from the low quality food. On top of this, I can't believe that a small plate of industrial french fries costs 10 leva!! We'll never go again for dinner. That’s the place for you if you love any of the following: 1. English premier league 2. Lager beer 3. French fries Probably one of the best places yo drink beers! Big TVs everywhere for uour favourite sporting events + a darts board. Beers are amazing, food is also pretty tasty! Great and interior Definitely the best place I know in Sofia, to have a quality beer (no fake beer there), especially the Stella Artois is just perfect (served super cold), for less than 10 LEV. The is always amazing with super friendly waitresses. Every time I am in Sofia, it's a must to have some beers there! Nice wee Irish bar. Decent tunes and atmosphere. Spent 50 lev (£20 ish at current ex.rate) on 2 Guinness and 2 Aperol Spritz so expensive for Sofia but cheap for those from UK. Most bad reviews seem to be related to service but no issues for us. As always, the Irish pub did not disappoint- flawless Guinness, a proper bar, and that classic “we’re having fun, promise” atmosphere. Without the Italian DJ, the place would’ve been clinically dead. Thankfully, Italian girl eventually saved the night by warming up to Jägerbombs. Sláinte! One of the best Irish pub I've ever experienced. The only negative side is music. I'd expect more traditional Irish music but other than that the beers are on fleek. Also french fries smell delicious. If you visit Sofia and search for a pub to spend night you should definitely see here.
