Very interesting. 8000 years ago people made this town This is the largest Iberian settlement in the Empordà region of Catalonia. Entrance fee is reasonable, o er 65s just €5. The audio commentary is excellent, with a conversation between the Head Archeologist of the site and an interviewer. There's a small at the top of the town. Suggest you go on a clear day as the views from there are glorious. An incredibly preserved and picturesque 600 BCE civilisation, well worth the visit. Audio guide is 45min duration and there are many interesting artefacts to see in the at the end. Only downside is the information is only in Catalan, Spanish and English would be a great addition. Whilst an audioguide is provided I recommend using the mobile QR code as the remote is cumbersome and hard to use. Time: 1.5 hour recommended Fabulous! The outside walk with the audio guide was for me the most interesting part. Very impressive Iberian town from the Iron Age (600 BCE). The outside walls are stunning and very well preserved, it's hard to believe that they survived the Roman conquest and got to us in such good shape. There is a self-guided audiotour in English, Catalan, Spanish (maybe in French too?); it takes a bit to load, but overall it's worth using it to understand what you see. Totally worth the visit! Nice with interesting artifacts and explanations of the pre-Roman civilizations. Magnificent valley and views. Large area of old walls, cisterns and grain storage and grinding methods. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. A remarkable Iberian site with impressive fortifications and a beautiful hilltop location. Walking through the ruins gives a vivid sense of ancient life, with silos, cisterns and stone streets still clearly visible. The small is well curated and includes unique finds, especially the trophy skulls with iron nails. Friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere make this a highlight for history lovers.
