The puppet theatre is located in a historic building. There is a very interesting clock: when it strikes, little windows open and large figures appear. It’s really fascinating! Wanted to use restroom which they were incredibly nice to let us use their facilities and ended up getting an invitation to their private event. My husband and I enjoyed the Puppet very much. Amazing people which we had great conversation with them. I was pleasantly surprised and intrigued by the since it was my very first time watching a puppet show. Incredibly hospitable people and beautiful city to visit. One of my favorite cities. Nice theatre specialized for plays for kids. The shows are nice. The administration to get the tickets not so much. You pay for the tickets online, you then go to next door office where they replace the vauchers for tickets which don't even say where you sit. Then you need to find the right entrance for the play and watch the play for 40 minutes, which is the same time as the administration handling took you. So the buying of tickets could be made way simpler but the was good. Wow oh wow. We took our toddler here and he was transfixed. Even though we don't speak the language it was easy enough to follow. For only 5 euro pp it was a great 40 mins. If you have small kids try to get tickets. Also the was at 930 am which I greatly appreciated for his age group! The plays are excited and always played to perfection by the puppeteers. The location is right bellow the Ljubljana castle so you cant plan a trip around that. It is worth a trip. The castle is in good condition. The architect who designed the extension and modern part of the castle did a great job. You have a lot of little rooms and exhibitions to explore. A big part is free.
