This is a camping site for caravans, RVs, and tents. It does not have room accommodation. It is a historical centre famous as the home of the unique Portuguese breed of horse. I wrote about this campsite 6 years ago and it was very positive . However I now have to change my opinion. Having visited it at least 3 times per year in the last 6 it has gone downhill considerably. Toilets are disgusting they require a deep clean. General maintenance is not carried out. Difficult to adjust shower taps. The site is mainly grass which is not cut very often and if it rains it is difficult to walk though. The present staff who work there are not interested. The female member in particular is agressive in her attitude to campers. Many long term residents are packing up and leaving. The Camera (Local Council) need to fix things. BUT they make their money during the Horse Festa by packing them in. Such a pity because the site could be really good under better supervision. This gated campsite was absolutely the best site we used for the whole 10 day trip. The tenting area was nice grass and the toilet/shower block was in pristine condition and looked brand new. For two people and one tent the fee was 6.25 Euros -fantastic!
