This mountain hut at the Krim summit is a former military building. Now it can host up to 30 people overnight. The food and offer of drinks are ok. The dining area has a fireplace but apart from that it lacks good furniture and warm details that usually make mountain huts a classy place to be. The whole building including interior looks worn out and like it could use renovation. Nice mountain lodge on Mount Krim, a 1,107-meter-high mountain on the southern edge of the Ljubljana Marshes. Because of its location and shape, it is one of the most recognisable features of the Ljubljana Basin and it is visited each year by thousands of hikers. In the 1970's, the Yugoslav People's Army closed the summit to the public and built a radio center there. Since 1991, the summit has been open again to visitors.. Popular recreation point near Ljubljana. Nice hike trough the woods, to the top of the hill, where you can enjoy great view and treat yourself with some homemade food and drinks. Best skutin and jabolčni zavitek we tasted in years! Also the zelje with žganci and ocvirki was a dream! The food costs a lot but it's really top and homemade. And the portions are big. To be honest, one portion of zelje and žganci can be divided between two people without a problem, so the price is ok. Very kind service too. The toilets are nice and actually pleasant to use, which is not very common. Hint: bring cash because they don't accept cards for payments unfortunately. And up until mid May, bring an additional layer to wear when on top, because it's quite chilly and windy on that outside view terrace. Was undecisive to give a 4 or a 5 star, but for to the food, it's a 5. We hope to come again soon. I know this is at the top of a hill, but there is no drinking tap water. The food is great, everything was well prepared and the staff was quick, despite the mid-day rush. There are a few daily dishes to choose from, most veggie friendly and I highly recommend their Prekmurska gibanica. The prices are a little higher than the average 'planinska koča' but this is a very popular place. Great hike, especially from the Jezero direction. Once you hike to the top, you will have appetite for some tasty homemade local food. Good place ,walking up mountain takes around 40 minutes , recommend good shoes lots of stones,staff friendly and balcony view amazing 😄 There's a wonderful hiking path through the woods to get there. At the cabin is a lovely view and great food. Staff are also super friendly.
