One of the Best Places To Visits in Iška Frequently mentioned in reviews: Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. it is beautiful and is refreshing specially when there is 35°c outside, but it is so crowded. people everywhere, pollute and forest. more trash bins or penalty for pollution. Vert nice place with a long river where you Can swim/bath and find fresh air when it's very hot in summer. You can also walk on the way over both sides of the river. You have to use the specified parking, which is not expensive. We took the path on the left side of the stream and explored the surrounding area, as well as enjoyed the water. The path is very well maintained. Suitable for families, beginner hikers and anyone who wants to enjoy a bit of nature. Easy and refreshing hike and not far from the city. People swim in the river, but be mindful it is cold. There's a restaurant at the begining of the trail and plenty of parking on several locations. Beautiful nature with paths by the river. You can cool off when it's hot everywhere else. However, the munincipality should solve the problem of littering. If they charge for parking, they could easily set up more bins. Numerous dogs mean dog poops and picking up poops and throwing them to woods in pvc bags is even worse then leaving them to decompose. Cool place to cool down in the summer, hike and eat at the restaurant. You can park at the payable parking and go on foot from there. Please respect the nature and don’t litter! Dogs are allowed, but on a leash (in case of baby animals) and will love the :) If you are looking for a place to refresh - even on a workday quite a lot of people around for a small place like this. Possible to lay down in in some places, but not to swim. Although views and the rocky river itself is beautiful From Iška vas through Iški vintgar to Rakitna hill. Cca. 4 hours of walking and hiking alltogether (almost 2 hours up hill, you sweat quite a bit). Took the 19I bus from Ljubljana city center. Then back with 44 bus at 18.50 from Rakitna (transit 6B bus to center). From Iška vas to Iški vintgar about an hour, no elevation changes. There (at Grabljice) I crossed the Iška stream and followed the path on the left side (if you look into the direction of upstream). You need extra shues for the but I think there's a path on the right side too. Then I had an hour of walking and hiking to where streams Iška and Zala meet. Vrbice, it's called. And there you cross the stream again fo find directions to Rakitna. Then pretty tough hike to the top of the hill to Rakitna. And then on a dirt road on top of the hill about an hour walk to the bus station at Rakitna. There's a lake in Rakitna village too but I didn't manage to take a photograph. Perfect day trip during the summer time.
