One of the castles in this area with a good organization and very inside and outside. You need tickets (cash only) at The Stone Pub, 5 minutes' walk from the castle. You can either visit, drink and eat The Stone Pub - a rustic setting. Inside Kalnoky Castle, you get an audio that explains about all the rooms. If you have any questions there is a who can answer you - Ferenc - a special and very helpful guy. Sehr schönes Anwesen, gut und liebevoll restauriertes FamilienSchloß. Ein ganz besonderer Ort für Feiern, Konzerte, usw. One of the hidden jewels in this area with good organisation and both a inside and outside. You must buy tickets (cash only) at The Stone Pub (50m walking distance from the castle) and wait a bit for a group to form to get the inside tour. But while you wait, you can either the exterior of the or get something to drink or eat in The Stone Pub - nice authentic rustic decor. Once inside the Kalnoky Castle, you get an audioguide that explains about every room and where the objects come from, but if you have any questions, there is a that can answer them. It's a must see if you're in the area during the weekend. I had a really lovely visit. The museum inside is charming and full of interesting things to see. Although the audio explanations were only in Romanian, it didn’t take away from the experience at all. The whole was definitely worth it. If the were better cared for, it would be even more and enchanting. Nu mă așteptam să fie așa frumos The architecture is lovely, but the and the website could use some upgrading and tending to. I couldn't reach the by the mobile phone given by them officially. I strongly advise you try to call first, to check the availability. When I got there, I had to wait about 30 minutes before the came out of the with a senior couple. It was rude to tell us (myself and my parents) that he's not in mood to us anymore, since it was lunchtime (nowhere officially written somewhere), and we should come another day. We live about 200 km away from the castle, so the opportunity was lost. There was no sort of official schedule he abode by, which was a disappointment. We didn't get to the anymore. I grew up in that village, I saw the in ruins and now is a jewel of the county. They really did a great job in restoring the castle. Maybe the would need more attention. You have to buy the tickets from the stone pub at the entrance. It a great view back in history. I just hope they won't break the peacefulness of the place. A wonderful experience, a restoration, with a personalized tour of the given by Mathias Kalnoky, who will answer a lot of your questions. He speaks German, Hungarian, English and is still learning Romanian (be patient with him) - alternatively, you can request an audio guide. For tickets, check at the local pub, and usually the tours start hourly. For further info, check their website as they offer a wide range of tours and activities - especially if you check-in at their guesthouses, the staff is very welcoming and helpful. All in all, a worthy way of spending your time learning about the local history and customs. We have been there for a concert. Superb sound in the garden! I recommend, truly. A must see for Covasna! Recently renovated, with a very nice guided tour of the interior, where you will find out useful information about the history of the area. Audio available. A good place to have an icecream & coffee, either in the cool cellar or in the backyard garden. with pond all very well taken care of. Guided tour starts every hour, last one at 16 and you have the guide’s phone available at the main gate. The nice people made the huge difference for this place. The building by itself is impressive with 1 meter wide walls with a long hallway from one end to another. The furniture is not the original one but the restauration team put a lot of work into re-creating the atmosphere in 19th century when the Cassel lived his glory period. The only worth paying a if the weather is nice. Great atmosphere, interesting history and lovely people! 🙏 Done a 6 days riding holiday organized by countess Anna. It was absolutely fantastic! Got a great horse, the views during the rides were priceless and count Mattiasz (our guide) has an incredible historical knowledge. All accommodations during the ride were typical Hungarian and perfectly clean. Foods were fresh and delicious. Would strongly recommend! in a remote town. The tour offers nearly full access to the entire facility, with original or staged furniture which enhances the overall experience. Highly recommend. Beautifully renovated and decorated castle, with a wonderful garden. A big surprise was how the spacious basement was arranged. It is only 46 km away from Brașov, definitely worth a visit.
