Lovely village…a nice place to chill out for a day wonderful place. take time to wander around the back streets and see the real beauty of this town. The area by the bus station is very touristy but ho a bit further and find the gardens and churches. Mijas is always kept clean and well maintained. I love it! One of the best White Villages near Malaga, Spain. Lots of shops with great merchandise from Morocco and elsewhere at reasonable prices. Mijas Pueblo truly embodies the soul of Andalusia, a captivating white nestled in the hills with breathtaking panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea. From the moment one steps onto its charming cobbled streets, adorned with vibrant flower pots, a sense of timeless beauty envelops you. The whitewashed houses, reflecting a rich Moorish influence in their intricate Andalusian architecture, create a picturesque labyrinth begging to be explored. A highlight of any visit is the Plaza Virgen de la Peña, a bustling square that serves as the heart of the village. From here, the views are simply spectacular, inviting contemplation and countless photo opportunities. Just a short stroll away, the serene Chapel of the Virgin of the Rock, carved directly into the mountainside, offers a peaceful spot for reflection and a glimpse into the village's deep spiritual heritage. The air is filled with the scent of jasmine, and the gentle murmur of conversations from local cafes adds to the tranquil atmosphere. Beyond its visual appeal, Mijas Pueblo offers a genuine cultural immersion. Exploring its historic corners, one truly feels transported to a bygone era, where tradition and beauty intertwine effortlessly. This is a testament to Andalusian charm, providing a relaxing escape from the bustling coast while offering easy access to it. It’s an unforgettable experience that combines stunning scenery with a rich historical tapestry, making it an absolute must-visit for anyone exploring the Costa del Sol. What a beautiful authentic Spanish town ! So pleased we visited. A very pretty traditional mountain with meandering streets lined with blue pots and plants. Donkeys, panoramic views, value for money shops including clothing. Tapas bars, fountains and the friendly locals make this place a must visit ❤️ Well, what a stunning place this is... Much bigger than expected but every inch of this little town is cared for and beautiful. Plenty of wonderful bars serving excellent food. Lots of hand made local food especially the leather made items. When visiting the area this should be a must on everyone's list Very cute old in the mountains. With beautiful narrow streets, stairs and many touristic stores and restaurants. Beautiful panorama view from the garden. Necessarily to visit. Zdecydowanie warto zobaczyć We stayed in this beautiful little town just 20 minutes from Málaga airport and 10 minutes from the beach. Quiet, charming area with lovely houses, private pools, and BBQ grills – perfect for a relaxing stay. Just make sure to check restaurant hours in advance. Great spot for a peaceful getaway with easy access to the coast! Very pretty place, very clean. Lots of steps so not great for reduced mobility though Pas pour ceux qui ont le vertige !
