The marina might be nice and the boat staff may be excellent, but I will say with 100% confidence that the lady at the front desk of this club needs to be fired. She is giving a bad name to all the beautiful and welcoming Portuguese people in this country who appreciate tourists, understand the value of customer service and care about the visitors who are here to learn about the country. For someone who is supposed to be a forward-facing employee to members and a representation of the brand of the marina, she does the entire operation a grave disservice. Not only is she rude and ill-mannered, she doesn't care about the reputation of her employer. Shame on her. I would be super embarrassed if she was my employee. I understand she wants to keep the club exclusive to members only, but who would want to be a member there when you have to deal with her? I was there early in the morning with my friends who have reserved boat and ask the gentleman if I could use the restroom - I do not speak Portuguese and I do not read it - I am a visitor. He said he would check and the receptionist yelled at him and did not even look at us. The was open so I went in to use it. I was in there only a few minutes and she came in yelling. She called me names and then she accused me of using the in her home and asked me if I would care if she used the in my house. Are you crazy? Look lady, the club is not your home. And yes, if you had an emergency and were visiting my country and came to my house to use the I would let you in! Or at least I would direct you kindly to a you could use. Total discrimination and complete lack of decorum and manners. I am a world travel writer for state and national magazines in the USA and believe me, I am not recommending this place to anyone. I know it's a shame because the captain of the boat that we used (separate review) was amazing and the entire trip to Portugal was beautiful except for this lady who is completely ruining the reputation of the kind-hearted and customer forward people of Portugal. She does not deserve to be in that position unless she goes to customer service training and checks her temper. Calm down lady, it's only a bathroom... An amazing experience instructed by a well educated marine biologist. The experience and views captured with pods of dolphins in their natural environment gliding/ jumping through the ocean was a magnificent site. A memory treasured forever. The biologist and partner were very welcoming and answered all our curious questions. I would rate this tour very highly.
