Great skiing ⛷not so far from Vienna. Slopes are well organized and fit for beginners and advanced. Kids are comfortable with the way it went. Great place, visited in summer so not so busy and used the tricycles to get down the hill. What a thrill! A nice place not only for winter, spring time is beautiful there, there's a lot to do and see, a beautiful resort place. After skiing for 30 years I really think this is one of the worst experiences I had in a ski resort. Totally overpriced and I feel this is a real scam - something that you think cannot happen in Austria. 11/11 of slopes are open but the lift is closed because of "storm" - guys its totally sunny and windless!!! Even if there is a storm, close the slopes and put it on web. You are scamming people with such statements. Go to Schladming guys, this is not worth it. Fantastic place for skiing. OK snow, mostly man made… enough space to enjoy skiing Panoramabahn long and diverse ski slop, amazing experience Mountain (4/5): Great place for learning how to ski (for kids, mostly, or adults that want to take it easy while learning and mastering the sport). Since it’s close to Vienna, the place gets crowded. The mountain is basically divided into two: the first lift (blue piste, with very very low degree of inclination) for the kids and beginners, and the second lift that leads to three red short pistes; one of these red piste can also take you to another blue piste which can be more difficult than the aforementioned. Overall, the mountains serves its purpose (learning). Equipment rental (2.5/5): since it is a place to learn, expect equipment in a 5/10 condition. Also, make sure the equipment you rent fits you as there are employees that are not very helpful on this. Unacceptable customer service Our family went for a 3 day ski trip to Monichkirchen. Me, my wife, my mother and our 4 year old son. We bought a 3 adult ski in advance online, but unfortunately on the day of our arrival our son got high fewer, so we had to cancel the trip and head home on the first day. So we came to the place where they sell and asked if we can return them if we haven't used them. The lovely lady there said that it is possible (even called the main office to double check). So we did everything as she told us to and because our son was a little better in the morning, we decided to have a go on a skis at least in the morning (my mother was with our son). So we bought 2 more just so our original 2 day for 3 won't be used (after consulting with the lady selling tickets). Once we got home, I receive an email from the main office, that they don't return any money for the tickets. So at the end we spent 270€ for nothing and another 90 on top of that for the additional that we bought. We were mislead. First of all, I haven't seen a skiing resort so far that wouldn't return you the money if you haven't used the ticket. No questions asked, ticket returned. Secondly, the lady selling explicitly told us that it would be possible. It's a shame, because we quite liked the slopes and wanted to come back with our son, but we will have to find another place. This kind of customer service is unacceptable for us. The best part is that the lady that sold us our accommodation actually offered to give us extra credit (the days that we haven't spent there and paid for) so we could come back and use it in the next 6 months. She was not supposed to, but she thought that it would be fair. We were here for a 1-day sking. Very good for families, due to long blue ski-trucks. Restaurants are fine, automatic ticket system is excelent. It is recommended to buy ticket online, significantly faster and slightly cheaper.
