Were there twice but I suck at timing, closed. Anyway you should think wow, this is in good shape. It was reconstructed and they still use it for concert. But the final point is, that Romans build it 2000 years ago and all we did is added a little cement and as good as new 🤫 Nice experience. A tranquil place to admire, with its halls as the most authentic part of the theater. One of the gems of Spoleto well worth a visit. The theatre is an excellent example of Roman architecture. The climb up to the centre is quite steep but I would recommend using the escalators which can be found at the back of the town centre near the public parking lot. Be sure to visit the cathedral and the bridge for some exceptional views of the valley below. Pretty theatre still in use. The teatro is nice, the museum was just ok, but only 4 euro so not bad. Be a roman star. The show is yours. Well preserved Roman theatre. A testimony to the ancient Roman character of Spoleto. It was closed when I was there but actually it didn't seem like anything special considering we are in Italy and these things are everywhere. There is limited pay parking on the street nearby. It's a good location to start exploring the city. Parking was 1.50 euro per hour. No car access from 00:00 to 11:00. Over half of it was rebuilt with modern cement, which is tragic for a 2000 years old construction. Not just that, but when we went there for the visit, there was a 'modern' band making unrecognizable very, very loud noises and we couldn't visit the little that was left untouched by the modern homo sapiens of this century. Great site and museum. Still used as a theater. Temporary stage over Roman stage and lighting added. To get the best view you have to visit the museum.
