The Deaf Stones

Efrem, Bulgaria Tourist attraction

One of the Best Places To Visits in Dabovets Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. The place carries tons of history, layer on top of cultural layer. Such a shame it is not prepared for tourism - there is no infrastructure, little information on a couple of notice boards in dire state. It's a nice place for a walk, not much to see yet. They are still discovering things there. We went end of August, weather was extremely dry but it was full of little flies and bugs, so a bug repellent is a must! Amazing part of our ancient history. Special and cult place for ancient Thracs. Very energetic place and a complete mystery still. It’s quite cool to follow the guide into the most adventurous paths. You can cover the entire place in under 3 hours. Amazing scenery. Lovely walk with great views. A little tricky at times with ropes to help. We'll worth a visit. Deaf stones - the sun town of tracians. This is an ancient sanctuary with a church on top. It was found by brothers Shkorpil. The track is light and you can reach this place by foot for about half an hour. Do not forget to bring water and also there are a lot of flies in the summer so the autumn is a good season to visit the place. Deaf stones are worth a visit. From parking it’s a small hike of 2 km. Some info available at entry. Don’t rush the visit. It’s nice to be there A rare opportunity to escape our modern surroundings, undulge the tranquility & feel the energy of this unique rock hewn complex. Our Tracian ancestors built this extremely important place of worship and sacrifice knowing the importance of the location of our holly land. This historical site is a cult complex, where various religions and rituals were practiced. The place has traces of Neolithic and Thracian burials sites, shrines and temples. The are also ruins of Christian temples. Something that was very interesting for me was the niches dug in the rocks. The place can be reached trough a hiking trail. The route takes between half an hour and a whole hour per direction. You should consider at least a half hour to explore the place. The place can also be reached by an off-road vehicle. A great, free, circular walk through the forest, past the magical stones and offering wonderful views towards Ivaylovgrad Dam. The more adventurous can take the steep but roped tracks, down to the caves. My dogs loved it too! Also, where you park your car, there is a very helpful guide selling precious stones and jewellery. His found his huge collection in the Rhodope Mountains.
