We didn’t realise There’s an fee although was a reasonable price, it’s somewhat of a challenge to get to, so be advised to get an Uber, We caught the H5 train from the city centre to the nearest train station called (Budakalász) then it was a 30min walk .. but well worth it, we got to walk around another on the way and enjoyed sitting in sunshine and watching the skiing atmosphere and with warm to swim in, to visit on a hot day Lupa Beach, often referred to as the "Budapest Sea," is a popular summer destination located just outside Budapest in Budakalász. It offers a unique seaside near the city with various amenities and activities catering to all ages. The features sandy shores, palm trees, creating a Mediterranean atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities, including paddleboarding, flyboarding, jetpack rides, and various sports such as volleyball and handball. Access to Lupa is not so convenient with public transportation But i Have no idea how the of this is cleaned. man-made around a lake, with lots of food options, play for the different age of kids, each type of group goes to their own area, music everywhere. Fun for everyone. This is NOT a hotel though, it's a recreational area. Used to be really cool place. Been here in 2020 and 2021 a couple of times. Today a Saturday with reasonably good weather, it is almost empty. Most food stores are closed. Still you have to pay entry fee of 15 euros. Pay for sun beds. This place has so much potential. At least keep people updated on social media so we don’t waste our time and money for this. EDIT August 2024 (from 1 star): Better on a Saturday. It was full and overall was good. The entry system is bad. Had to queue in the boiling hot sun to get in with our prepaid tickets. If you run this place for so long, don’t you get the idea maybe to put a roof at the so people don’t stand in the sun? Is it that hard to come up with an idea like that? Maybe imagine you are a visitor and stand for 15 minutes at the entrance. Just for fun. Let me know how it feels. My friend went there and now here I am applying cream on his chicken pox! The is very still and it increases the chances of contamination. We visited Lupa today – highly recommended for a day trip. The best is the first one as you enter. Entrance fees: approx. €15 for adults, €4 for children. Sunbed rental: around €5. There are inflatables, and just two minutes away there's Omzski-tó where you can go skiing (swimming is not allowed there). Food, drinks, and alcohol are available on-site. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the area. Please note: the is not accessible by public transport – you can only get there by taxi, private car, or on foot. Highly recommended! Dude at the reception with the iron cross symbol on his ring to welcome you. Then if you want to sit on the you have to pay extra. Dirty looking water. Left within 10 minutes i got there. 1. You would think that for the already overpriced fee you can use the sun beds, but it turns out one bed is more expensive than the whole adult fee. If you don't pay extra, you can only put your staff on the sand and there is no shadow! 2. For the toilet you need to walk 10 mins, so I recommend doing it in the lake. Not recommend at all, they just try to exploit tourists. I like lupa a lot and I have been swimming here for years. But now it is a place only rich tourist can afford to go, the prices are not designed for a Hungarian salary. But the prices, I pay to get in, then you want to charge me another 1000huf to us a locker? Many of the thermal baths and pools charge similar and the locker is included. Also the locker room closes much earlier than the lake The worst new policy is Im not longer allowed to bring food or drink in any more. I come to swim for an hour after work and sadly now to swim here will cost more than my rent. We went there on the free opening weekend and it was but don't go when you have to pay. Entrance for adult is 6000huf and that includes nothing (shower if that's counted). You have to pay 2000huf per person for sunbed which is extremely ridiculous. It should be included in the fee. Also food are very expensive so if you plan to stay for whole day better bring enough food and drinks. Ohh and parking is also not for free:) Lupa is a calm and pleasant place, especially for families. The inflatable playground is a highlight for children. fees are reasonable — 6,000 Ft for adults( if you tried the VIP let me know what's on there)— but you’ll need to pay an extra 5,000 Ft if you want a parasol. A variety of food booths and drinks are available on site. In the morning, the is fresh and inviting, but by noon, the tends to be filled with floating branches. Just two minutes away, there’s a water-skiing (where swimming is not allowed), which is a nice bonus for sports lovers. Overall, it’s a spot if you’re nearby. However, if you need to travel 1.5 hours like we did, I don’t think it’s worth the trip — Palatinus on Margaret Island is much better. The premium section is closed (visited Sept 5, 2025). The floating activities for kids are closed. The bathrooms are clean. The had a lot of sharp seaweed but we still swam after we cleaned up our area. There was a small piece of poop floating (possibly from a duck). Sand was nice and clean. It's not worth going here unless you are willing to open your wallet for everything that is out there. cost us €15 per person (4pm ticket) thinking that you can then use anything and everything inside the park. That is not true!! Once you enter you are greeted by clean sanitary facilities. But that's it, you have to pay for everything else in the park. Lockers, beds, even the floating playground cost money. In my opinion it is not worth going here! I was a bit reluctant to go after reading some bad reviews but I am glad I went. It's a of kind of near Budapest. The facilities are super good, such as showers, Toilets, restaurants, sunbeds etc. And...of course you pay for it... It's definitely a recommended for a chilled day! (Just be aware that public transportation is not an option...) OMG , this place is so expensive tourist trap. You need to pay for everything including the sunbeds although you already payed very expensive tickets. The food and drinks are more expensive than in the city center, the is nothing special, the itself is just awful and not enough space for good swimming. We are family of four and that day just for parking, tickets, sunbeds, simple meal , we payed more than 100 euros, which is more than day on the in Greece for example. For sure we are not going again. Not to mention that at the they are checking your bags so you are not allowed to bring your own bottle of water. The guy at the ticket office has some issues, he has anger problems. He got angry at us for being dropped off at the wrong spot. I recommend green tea it will help you calm down. Learn to speak to people with some respect. You walk in and suddenly all your bad toughts vanish, you just smile and can not stop looking around the beach. You feel like you are in Hawaii, the vibes, the music, the people, the coctails… it is just another world. The location, the was incredible. The service was 50/50. In the Bay it was exceptional. The servers were nice at the Bay Area. But the guy who was accepting tickets was just rude and accusing us of trying to get into the without paying. We got dropped off in the wrong place and he was shouting at us. Other than that one man, our was great. But he really gave us attitude and put a downer on the whole for us. Easy to come here by car, kind and fast staff, loved the waffles here Ticket men were moody and shouted at my friends. was alright but main bit was shut without warning. Service at the bar was really good, they were helpful and not moody at all. Bit of a joke that the sunbed cost extra given the fee. Nice to cool off, but don’t expect to leave with any money. Guy on the ticket office has an attitude problem. Get another job if you are so miserable with your life. However the and were awesome and the guys on the bar were great! Remove the weirdos on the reception and you have a time - miserable people!
