Top-quality, accommodation in the heart of Biokovo. A magnificent, traditional, stone house that radiates hospitality at first glance combines the true spirit of mountaineering and luxury that is far above anything else in this area. The facility offers accommodation in uniquely decorated rooms for two people and one shared dormitory for groups. The experience of staying is completed by the top-quality cuisine that offers homemade dishes (pašticada and apple pie are commendable) and extremely friendly and professional staff. This unique mountaineering facility is accessible by car so it can serve as a base for exploring Biokovo, but also as an ideal location for a getaway for those who are not really into excessive walking in nature. Definitely recommended and definitely a location to which I will return. Why is this called a Mountain lodge (Planinarski dom)? Can somebody explain? This clearly is a classy hotel (prices confirm it) reachable by car. The name is misleading to a common hiker who expects something very different. Only thing relatable to a mountain is it's position on the mountain. The real mountain hut is located in the vicinity, and it's called Toni Roso mountain hut on Vošac. If it is a hotel, call it a hotel, but don't take people for fools. Btw. it looks totally fine and I'm sure it's worth spending a weekend there for certain type of audience. A luxurious weekend, not a mountaineering weekend. We were here for lunch and we were extremely satisfied. The service was pleasant, the food was delicious and we had the best salad in all of Croatia. Great place to stop and relax and eat. It must be a very nice place to rest, and it is indeed very picturesque, but when we wanted to eat and drink something after an exhausting hike to Sveti Jure, they told us, they already closed up (this happened shortly after 4pm on Monday). There's no problem with this, it's their business, they close when they want to. My problem is, it happened well before the official closing hours which were written in the pamphlet handed to us at the entrance. (There was no 'fine print' saying these opening and closing hours only regard to some weird case, or they depend on the season. Nothing like that, there was written Mon-Sun 10am to 9pm, that's it.) So please either don't write misinformation in the pamphlet, or be open when you're supposed to be. Perfectly integrated into the natural surroundings, yet modern and well-equipped. Many details in design and decor make the whole place warm and special. The restaurant offers an excellent selection of food and great value for money. The service is friendly and fast. The nearby hiking trails are suitable for children, and it takes only 20 minutes of easy climbing to reach the top of Vošac, which offers the best view of Makarska and the surrounding areas. The drive along the mountain road to the lodge and restaurant is pleasant, with many beautiful spots along the way, passing right by the Skywalk. I was so glad to stop by this restaurant after a 3-hour hike to the peak from the Makarska Riviera. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. Truly a hidden gem – easily 10 out of 10! They were absolutely amazing. The portions are generous, the presentation is neat, and everything is cooked with love. The beer deserves a special mention – fresh and perfectly chilled.
