Some of the derelict buildings let it down hugely as it could be so much better with a little bit of work. If you are looking for a recreation, there you have swimming, nudist sunbathing, rowing, roller skating, surfing, wakeboarding, skate park, wakeskating, horseback-riding, bicycle-riding, running / walking (even with a dog), children playgrounds, locations with free fitness equipment, streetworkout equipment, free grill equipment, volleyball and handball on sand, canoeing, softball field, table tennis, interesting things such as a Zagreb labyrinth of resurrection and seven planets , replica of Nikola Teslas Wardenclyffe tower surrounded with rocks that represents Solar plexus of Europe, coffee shops, restaurants, ice cream vendors... Definetly worth visiting. Slow pace , nice and quiet this time of year ( late august ) 5 cafe bars open , ice creams , swimming , basketball etc . one of my favourite Zagreb places after a few years living here . pizza joint opens at 16:00hrs . enjoy I really love this place! The views are nice, opportunity to swim. Laying down on the rocks is obviously not ideal. There is a large grassy area a little bit further away from the shore where you could chill instead, but again, not ideal, because you cannot see your stuff while swimming. But the grassy area is still very nice for a picnic or hangout. Unfortunately there are no dressing cabins for when you want privacy while changing to and from your swimming clothes. But there was a tap to get drinking water from, which is much needed on a hot day. While swimming, I unfortunately saw some trash floating around. It's more like a giant in the city with a rock beach, 40 mins from the city centre with public transport and then a little ways walking through a lovely quiet lil neighbourhood. Sports, gastronomy, relax, music, concerts, events, all in one place. A clean and safe spot very close to the sity center, kids love it The place is beautiful but it is invaded by mosquitoes !! But I mean a lot that if you stay still for a couple of seconds to take a picture, you'll get 4 bites ! It's a nightmare !! I highly recommend that if you're going there, take some protection with you.
