And also..inside the museum you can learn how to make the alsacian bow that women used to wear in the ~1900 Great museum. Arrive promptly at opening as it requires a full day to see everything on offer. A few exhibits could use better lighting. Staff very helpful. Not only ordered a taxi but came out with me to make sure I got it. A designated taxi pickup area would be helpful. Lunch at the hotel restaurant very good with friendly staff. White storks everywhere! Súper cute place with animals and a vegetable garden! It’s a great place to go with children, and you can bring your dog too! It's a 'living museum' so there are people dressed in appropriate costume going about their trades. You can see a working forge, carpenters, and old school with teachers etc. The buildings ar from different time periods and have been dismantled and painstakingly reassembled on site. We were lucky because the museum wasn’t busy and we had sunny day. There is a little patisserie, we ate something, it was delicious. They have done really good things in this village. It's a big place with a LOT to see, so go early in the day to give yourself time. Take a picnic lunch. There are loads of places to sit & enjoy it. There are plenty of loos, and they were clean & well kept. The staff are friendly and happy to answer questions if they can. The gift shop is, as they generally are, a bit pricey, and I didn't find the selection they had on offer all that enticing, but that might just be me. All in all, well worth going, but do give yourself lots of time if you want to get maximum value for your entrance fee. (Advice for wheelchair en aid-users) All in all a nice day! We had a great day! Nice welcome and a very friendly lady at the reception. It was clearly stated what could be expected with regard to the use of a wheelchair / mobility scooter. Unfortunately, not all houses can be visited, but that makes sense considering the age of the houses. We did have some problems with the thresholds and slopes. There are also many roads with only loose gravel and no wheelchair lane. We do think that some profit can still be achieved in terms of accessibility. In the park we saw many elderly / strollers / aids so I think it is a welcome addition. Threshold aids (from wood, for example) can make a big difference! After all, it is important and nice to also 'serve' people with disabilities. Added pictures situations where some improvement is welcome. Maybe an accessibility consultant can help you.
