Olhão, Portugal Public swimming pool

Fantastic (25 meter for lane swimming) and also smaller pools for families and children just under €5 for 2 adults entry! Free locker too (wear a hat and tight trunks - speedos/shorty trunks for men) as they don’t allow loose shorts) most people wear flip flops sandals to the poolside but I didn’t which didn’t seem to be an issue. You must also shower before entering (wish more places did this!!) Amazing clean and superb facility! The Uk could learn a lot from Portugal on how to run a great public pool! Nice and people. 2.10 eu. Could longer than an hour. Clean 25 m. Well done Ohlao for a community pool! Nice facility that I would rate much higher, but they don’t mention anywhere on their website that guys need to wear a speedo to be allowed in the pool. I bought a cap, flip flops, and walked 3km to get there and right before diving in was told I couldn’t. I can anywhere else in the world in my normal bathing suit, so if they want to enforce this policy it needs be clearly stated on website like their other requirements. Excellent for those looking for a or to have their kids join lessons. Instructors are knowledgeable and work well with the kids. We have two children (10 and 12) that are really enjoying their lessons. Rates are reasonable and there is plenty of parking and seating inside to watch the kids during their lessons. Nice with lane swimming, quiet in the morning and early afternoon, gets busy around 5pm. The other swimmers were respectful, the staff were helpful. Visited this more than 10 times over 2 weeks. It's not expensive, you will have to fill out a registration form before you or your child at the first reception. You ask for a free locker key at the second reception before the changing rooms and they will ask for your registration form which they give back to you when you hand your key back. You must have a cap and poolside flip flops, and you can use fins and hand fins. Pretty good pool, has a children's as well as a with lanes. Note that the closes between 14:00 and 17:00, this is not mentioned anywhere. Clean, modern, affordable. Great lap pool, also hot tub and smaller too; only 2euros 20cents for an adult swim, includes free locker key. Need to take hair cap to cover head when in the and also flip flops to wear inbetween changing room and getting into pool. Also make sure you shower in changing room before entering area. Helpfull staff, quiet when I went had lane to myself. I only speak basic Portuguese, staff very helpfull. This centre is over 20 years old but is still in absolutely pristine condition. Fantastic pools (main 25m X 8 lane) and sky high standard of hygiene. No outside shoes or bare feet allowed. You won't get near the without clean flip-flops or similar and caps are obligatory. Bit awkward when you turn up for the first time with neither, but from then on you're sorted. Makes you wonder whether we shouldn't be a bit more fussy back home.
