We were in Baska Voda for a few days visiting close relatives. We tried different restaurants mostly serving similar seafood dishes, and they were all quite good, but not outstanding. On our last night, we tried Bistro Karlo because of its excellent location in front of the marina, perfect for watching people pass by. We relied on the kind and friendly host to suggest the dishes we should have. When the food came, what a surprise it was. From the starters, the main dishes, all the way to desserts, they were hands down the best food we had during our stay. We had spent 5 days in Italy before we came here, and it was better than everything we had there. The taste, preparation, and service were all on point. Very strongly recommended! The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was relaxed with a lovely view. A wonderful experience at dinner with friends with a view of the sea and the sunset. The restaurant owner kindly hosted us and seated us on the terrace upstairs (the terrace on the ground floor was full). From appetizers (octopus salad, arancini, pizza bread and pizza bread with garlic, beef carpaccio) to main courses (burger, beefsteak in green pepper sauce, tuna steak and stuffed patties) to dessert (lemon tart, apple pie with ice cream) , prosecco) and at the end of the coffee dessert we enjoyed a rhapsody of delicious flavors. The choice of dishes on the menu is really diverse, we have convinced ourselves of the quality of the cuisine. In addition, the staff suggested excellent wines to pair with the dishes. I recommend the restaurant and I know I will be back. The upstairs terrace offers a wonderful private and romantic atmosphere Delicious food and lovely, attentive service! We have eaten here twice and heading back tonight. Excellent food and friendly staff that really make you feel at home. Seen reviews about them being stressed but I personally don’t agree. They are efficient and fast because they want to provide good service to many people. There were 10 of us and they had no problems making us feel seen and attended. We also got the food really fast. There gluten-free options is worth a spetial mention. Finding good gluten-free options are really hard, if you don’t want to eat French fries all the time. Their pizza is the best we ever had, and we have tried a lot of different places. If you are looking for good gluten-free food get over there, you will thank me later.
