Impressive mosque!!! The sote was renewed recently. It fits surprisingly well with the urban setting where it has been hidden for many years. one of the oldest mosques, I would like to attend a symphonic music concert there, I think it's beautiful This place was restored as originally. Just like thousands of others, the Ottoman structure has been systematically destroyed after Balkan Wars. There are no items left in the building and its minaret was destroyed. But this is a lucky because it wasn't razed like the others. Beautiful architecture for a Turkish building. Καταπληκτικος χωρος εντυπωσιακα συντηρημενος Beautiful mosque, open to the public for exhibitions. not very charming but visit if you are interested in historical places. Assalamualaikum and Hello Everyone, Our visit to Zincirli in Serres was a truly enriching journey into the layered history of Islamic heritage in Greece. This beautifully preserved stands as one of the most iconic Ottoman-era monuments in the city, carrying with it centuries of cultural memory and architectural grace. Known locally as Zincirli Tzami, the dates back to the 16th century and is admired for its elegant design, stone craftsmanship, and distinctive architectural details. The name “Zincirli,” meaning “with chains,” comes from the ornamental chains that once hung at its entrance—a historic symbol of humility and reverence upon entering a sacred place. Although no longer functioning as a place of daily worship, the remains an important cultural and historical landmark. Walking around it, you can feel the echoes of its past—its serene courtyard, its graceful minaret, and its harmonious proportions reflecting the calm and sophistication of classical Ottoman architecture. Thanks God, we were able to record videos, take photos, and dive deeper into the story of this historic site. We’ve shared our exploration on our YouTube and Instagram channel, ROOTS&ROUTES360, where we highlight Islamic heritage throughout Central Europe and the Balkans. They been restoring this for years. Nice place to chill out Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
