This beautifully preserved stands as one of the most iconic Ottoman-era monuments in the city, carrying with it centuries of cultural memory and architectural grace. Known locally as Zincirli Tzami, the dates back to the 16th century and is admired for its elegant design, stone craftsmanship, and distinctive architectural details. The name “Zincirli,” meaning “with chains,” comes from the ornamental chains that once hung at its entrance—a historic symbol of humility and reverence upon entering a sacred place. Although no longer functioning as a place of daily worship, the remains an important cultural and historical landmark. Walking around it, you can feel the echoes of its past—its serene courtyard, its graceful minaret, and its harmonious proportions reflecting the calm and sophistication of classical Ottoman architecture.
