If you visit, or just drive through to get to Osijek, stop here and take a walk around it, enter museum, library and enjoy this beautiful Croatian cultural site. One of the best preserved castles in Slavonia, if not entire Croatia. For a buck or two you can see 200 years of historical items and wander around this magnificent building. Bear in mind that the is closed on sundays and on saturday afternoons so you don't kiss the door. They always propose the same kind of events, so it's quite boring. Smart politicians of this town decided to build a very ugly asphalt parking just next the castle, it's awful. And they cutted trees to make this ugly parking... Terrible. You can see this was wonderful in the past, too, but this new team of politicians do their best to ruin it. less and less trees, more and more garbages and asphalt. If Dora would see it, she would definitely get mad to see what they did to this ex treasure. So it was a 5 stars park/castle , that policitians is turning into a 1 star park/castle. It is located in the park, nowadays a city park, along with a small and business facilities, and recently built residential buildings and a hotel. The name is carried by the famous Pejačević noble family. The foundation of the original was erected by Count Vincenci Pejačević (1780-1820) in the middle of January 1811, and on March 11, Ana in January 1812, the was over.
