While visiting Rostock Germany from San Francisco, California, I drove to the outdoor DDR vehicle and tractor museum. I personally enjoyed the unorganized inventory of DDR items. I did notice a few military items but nothing with 3rd Reich insignia. The owner was very nice and offered a brief tour but later allowed us to browse on our own. My decision to visit DDR Oldtimer museum was a great idea because I learned about history from the DDR era. I would have only rated it 4, but one of the owners took it upon himself to give us a personalised tour of the cars which was very interesting. Absolut geile Zeitreise. Wir waren spontan an einem Wochenende da. Für manche mögen die Besitzer und Hunde gewöhnungsbedürftig sein. Aber man sollte Menschen nehmen wie sie sind. Wir hatten gute Gespräche mit dem Besitzer. Dann durften wir uns frei bewegen auf dem Gelände. Von Fahrrad über Pkw und Lkw bis hin zur guten alten Landmaschine alles da. Auch viel Krims Kram. War echt toll. Und als Hobby Fotograf konnte ich mich schön entfalten. Auf jeden ein Besuch Wert. Die Jungs werden es euch danken. Die Ausstellung gefiel mir gut,es könnte nur etwas aufgeräumter u.sauberer sein.Vielws kannte ich aus DDR-Zeiten noch,es gab aber auch sachen die ich noch nicht kannte An eclectic collection of old Eastern Block vehicles and farm machinery, as well as other memorabilia. The owner is really friendly and knowledgeable, and pushed through the language barrier to give lots of interesting info about the exhibits. Die Leute sind sehr nett und wenn man Glück hat darf man sich hier und da auch mal reinsetzen. Der Eintritt ist mit 3 euro pro Person ok. Das einzige was ziemlich schade ist das einige wirklich schöne geschichtsträchtige Maschinen und Autos in wirklich schlechten Zustand sind. Ist aber bei gutem Wetter aufjedenfall einen Besuch wert Ein Museum der besonderen Art. Angefangen beim Chef, der persönlich du die Ausstellung führt und über jedes Fahrzeug etwas zu erzählen hat. Die Ausstellung ist so vielfältig das für jeden was dabei ist. Ein Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall und der Eintritt mit 3€ ist es allemal wert.
