Very useful for local information, especially if you are wanting to visit Normandy D-day related sites as lots of free leaflets are available along with books & maps to purchase. Very helpful young lady, gave us loads of information about what to see and do. I know it was her job, but it didn't feel rushed, and she took time to answer our many questions. Very nice lady willing to answer all questions and give instructions for things to visit in Normandy. Very friendly staff! Worth a quick visit if you're spending time in Bayeux. We were in a AirBNB in Bayeux in November and hadn’t planned a tour ahead of time (trying to be spontaneous). The nice lady there worked her tail off getting us a tour. She was not going to stop until she got us to The Beaches. This level of customer service is unparalleled! Extremely knowledgeable and helpful! We stopped in and told them what D Day sites we wanted us to see and they showed us on a map where to start to see all the sites in chronological order, what museums to be certain to visit as well as road side stops, etc. Thanks to the Bayeux Tourist office we had a complete tour of Normandy and historic DDay towns and sites with no tourguide required! Thank you for your outstanding service! I felt Taxis are scammers!Taking advantages of having no competition! I’m so disappointed with everything in Bayeux, my whole experience made me hate Bayeux and the areas. 1) my esim (data) reception stopped working as soon as I stepped in Bayeux from train station 2) only 1 bus per day to Omaha beach (only in the afternoon, that didn’t work for me) 3) my 2nd option, I tried to book Uber(which I did internet research, said it works in Bayeux, turns out it didn’t work, no driver is accepting my request) 4) the staff lady said I could book taxi only by call, I didn’t have France number, she said she could book taxi for me but I had to pay 2€. She called with landline for few seconds, and gave me a piece of paper for the service, and I paid 2€ for that! And she said I can wait outside, would be there in 5 mins. ( she didn’t tell me the and I didn’t ask either as I expected 30-38€ as Uber prices show as such). I felt no compassion nor empathy nor the slightest care how much I have to pay as a solo traveler from the staff. No explanation about fare OR a sedan unavailability if it’s relating with the or whatsoever. 5) a black minivan with no taxi sign arrived, and I thought why it’s so big just for me! And to my surprise, he said it’s 45€. (I accepted reluctantly as I was already there after taking train from another place) he gave me a business card ‘Bayeux Taxis’ if I needed a ride again on the way back, told me to call him 30 mins advance and would pick me up with same price. And when I texted the number from WhatsApp, someone else replied and said 75€!! 45€ was already expensive and I was so shocked! He later said 65€ final price, when I told him what the other guy told me, he said “yes, that’s his price, my is 65€, not less”, and when I asked about the first guy and his number, he said he is busy, he gave me another number, turned out it’s still not the first guy, this 3rd guy said 70€, and final 65€. The trip didn’t even last 30 minutes and 65€ was ridiculous. And how come the prices are different from one person to another if it’s an official taxi agency accepted by Bayeux tourist office? I’m so confused and disappointed, I felt like I was in a flea market. My advice: If you wanna visit D-day beaches, book tours well in advance OR rent a car.
