Great place to visit Part of Sword beach, memorial to UK troops to East of town centre with public toilets on sea front. Parking was hard to find, but it was the weekend after D-day. Luc-sur-Mer Beach is My least favorite beach in Normandie. Unless you’re happy just sunbathing on the (clean) sand, there’s little to enjoy. The water and shore are full of seaweed and pebbles and there are virtually no facilities — no water to drink or wash and no shade. A very good restaurant for sea food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Beautiful view to the sea as the terrace is on the verge of the beach. Beautiful clean beach. No ugly windmills or industrial pollution. All you can see is horizon, sand and sea with people sitting, sailing and swimming. Love it. Very interesting and easy walk on a Sunday afternoon. Promenade has D-Day memorials and stories. Worth a visit to the church on the Douvre la Delivrande road where there are three war graves. Big beach, nice and sandy, not too busy, bars and restaurants along promenade, and a toilet!
