I spotted it from my car while driving and decided to take a detour and visit. It was a truly pleasant surprise. The was built in medieval times and has been enlarged and updated over the centuries until it reached its current shape. In the 19th century, the was abandoned and fell into ruins. It was finally restored by the local authorities. When I visited, it happened to be my birthday, and they were kind enough to give me a small discount on the ticket. The offers a beautiful view of the valley below. It’s definitely worth a visit. Below the castle, there is a free car park with tables and chairs where you can enjoy a meal in the open air before heading up to the castle. There were very few tourists on the weekend — it felt like this place is either little-known or seriously underrated. But it’s such a fascinating castle-museum! Lots of interactive features that are fun for both adults and kids. You can even try on armor :) The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. One thing to keep in mind: the bar only offers coffee, ice cream, and chips, and the nearby café rarely opens — so plan your energy accordingly to fully enjoy your visit. I highly recommend this place! 🏰 Castle: A beautiful, large in an extraordinary location. The monument itself is impressive in terms of size and fortification system. The views from its various parts are breathtaking. Absolutely a MUST-SEE if you’re in the area and the weather is nice. 🪅 Additional attractions: On Sunday at 12:00 we watched a knight show along with an armor demonstration and a cannon salute. The whole presentation looked really great. 🅿️ Parking: The is, of course, located on a hill where there is a parking lot, but unfortunately it is not very large. I therefore recommend arriving early. Otherwise, you’ll need to leave your car at the bottom and climb for about 20–30 minutes. What a jewel to visit. You can easily spend 3- hours (or more!) here. We arrived just in time for the knight's demo (mind: it's all in Italian, but entertaining even if you don't understand). We got to take photos with knight's armour, do crossbow shooting (arrows with rubber tips, so perfectly safe for kids) and do a mini knight's training course. It's very affordable (we paid €14 for 2 adults and one 5 year-old). The people working there are extremely friendly and eager to explain things. We had a very enjoyable afternoon. I would recommend to come as early as possible to be able to park at the castle's official parking lot. We arrived around midday, and parked in the village below. It's a rather challenging climb up to the from there, especially on hot days. Incredible place to visit! We went with a family of 5. The views and itself are amazing in every way. Staff very pleasant, facilities immaculate. There is a nice small cafe and washrooms. Highly recommend! If you’re craving an Italian with a spectacular view go here. Spend the day in the bar, take a picnic, play life sized chess and tour the historical/informational rooms. Bit of a hike but paved and an easy 30 minutes on good knees. Recommend stretching the calves before though. Or just drive right to the parking lot at the either way you won’t regret it. A with a lot of things to do to keep everyone entertained. Short films, walks around the parapet, knights and props, spots to practice your own knighthood; all in a quiet atmosphere. Small point of improvement is the parking. It is a little all over the place and people don’t really understand how to properly use the area.
