Nice place for a day out. Lighthouse is visible from Olhao. Ferry trip takes about 30 minutes. To from Lighthouse via to three quater of the island takes about 2hrs. From the to Ferry Port takes about 20 minutes walk. It s worth to swim in the ocean. Water is nice and warm. Crystal clear and warm water. It feels like paradise. The from the boat through a broadwalk is very nice too. There are not many tides and you can into the sea a long time before you have to swim so it's ideal for kids too. It can be uncomfortable if there's wind so check weather beforehand. The reason for 4 stars is the absurd price you have to pay for the parasols there 20 euros full day and 15 euros half day. Tres belle plage. Very nice and quiet. The island is very cute. Make sure to bring food, drinks and snack because credit cart does not work at the beach!!!! Other than that marvellous!! It's a beach. No more, no less. Nothing here but lots of space - I like that, you may not. No toilets, no services, no nothing. But that's why we'll come back. It's a kilometre back to a cafe and about 4 km to Farol's bar and ferry. Its a great stroll if the wind isn't blowing - check in advance as its a proper trek into the wind. I love a clean beach… No plastic or trash, there are many garbage receptacles and these beaches are not overcrowded. You must take a slow ferry from Faro or Olhão to arrive, which can take 30-60 minutes. There is a small town on the island with amenities. It takes about 3 min to through this town and From there you have a 20 min through dunes to arrive at the beach, although a boardwalk is provided for ease of walking and to protect the environment… wonderful! Beautiful small island with restaurants and bars on the way to the beach. Some locals still live off fishing and there is even a primary school on the island. The is nice, bit it takes Abt 15 minutes to there from the port. Consider this if you have small kids with you. Very wide with beautiful white sand and clear turquoise water. Water is not too cold and the waves are amazing. If you go to the left from the entrance there is a lot of place and it’s very private. There is also a bar near the main entrance serving some cold beverages, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. There are chairs and umbrellas near the bar so it’s a nice place to chill. Lovely and tranquil. Here in january and very few people. Just remember to get something in the shop in the village as there is no cafe or stall. In off season there is no seating either so delighted we brought something to sit on. Pure tranquility Once you get off the ferry the lovely streets are full of little cafes and restaurants that you will want to have a quick drink in to cool off! The to the is beautiful and will take around 15 mins which when you get there will feel like nothing because of the stunning and crystal clear water….definitely one to visit if you can!
