We are sailing on a yacht and have visited many marinas, but Chalkis Marina is by far the worst we've ever encountered. The service is appalling, the staff are indifferent and rude, and the marinero is downright hostile and unprofessional. We contacted the marina a week in advance via email, WhatsApp, and by phone — no response whatsoever. All we needed was to stay for 3 days while waiting for the drawbridge to open. One day before arrival, the marinero finally answered and said, “Maybe there will be a spot, come and call me.” We arrived, called — no answer for a long time. Then he finally picked up and said, “I’m not in the port. Drop anchor and wait.” Meanwhile, we could see about 10 empty berths inside the marina. We asked if we could temporarily tie up — he yelled into the phone: “Absolutely not!” Even though many reviews mention people docking themselves in free spaces. Later that day, we randomly saw him in the port (still not answering our calls) and only then he gave us a place for 2 days, promising to move us to another spot afterward. Instead, he rudely messaged us on WhatsApp saying we had to leave immediately and anchor outside, breaking his promise. We paid 20 euros for this disgraceful experience. The woman in the office collecting payments was also no help — she flat out lied and said she hadn’t received our email. Terrible people, especially the marinero. The worst service imaginable.
