Great time at B&B Guest House Du Lac Location: Few minutes from amazing lake front and boulevard along side the Geneva lake, 2 min from Belle Port bus station and 20 min from Montreux train station Room: I had a studio flat with kitchen, and great bedroom. View: railway line, a bit of lake & mountains Breakfast: absolutely perfect! Salmon, pancakes, mozarella &tomatoes, variety of cheeses and salami, eggs, omelette, sausage, porridge, pastry, cake, hot chocolate, coffee, cappuccino, tea, bread basket, variety of jams, honey, fruit basket…… Stuff: very friendly I really enjoyed my staying here! Thank you for an experience. My family and I stayed here for one night. The staff were kind, friendly, and efficient, speaking many languages. The exceeded our expectations. Overall, the house was clean, but unfortunately, I can't say the same for the bed and linens. I paid 30 francs for 24 hours of parking, which was quite reasonable for me. 1st floor was next to the rain way, so it was noisy and the floor was creaking a lot. The toilet is outside the room, hence rather inconvenient. The plus side is that the host was nice, was good and plentiful, very good, right in front of bus station, near to Chillon castle and only 8 mins walk to town. Four of us stays 3 nights here on the 3rd floor, with two adjoining rooms and private bathrooms. Super hospitable father (Thomas) and daughter (Lea) made a big difference to the stay. Very convenient (take the tram 201 from Montreux Gare Escaliers to Port du Lac). Very easy to get to all the attentions in Montreux. Lavish, well-balanced breakfast. Although, there's no lift, the hosts helped with the bags. Lovely rooms and amazing breakfast! The host was super friendly and so accommodating. Really comfortable beds. The is great for exploring by foot and parking is on the road at the top of the hotel. Only down side is that the trains run until around 11.30 so with the window open it can be a little noisy but if you shut the window it is fine. I stayed here with my family for one night. The host was very kind and the was great. The is nice but I wouldn't book it if I knew/noticed the following points: 1. The bathrooms are not private but shared. 2. The building is old. The rooms are not well-insulated. This means that whoever uses the bathrooms, you can easily hear them. Very inconvenient. 3. A railway crosses by the hotel. Imagine that we stayed at a with a railway on one side and toilets on the other side. We couldn't sleep at all. The property is old but well maintained. But the pillow in the was not comfortable. Water pressure was weak when taking shower. Fantastic place! Great location.. within walking distance to town and bus stop right outside if needed. Large modern, well equipped with our own right across the hall. Reviews stating they found others using their private bathroom...there is a key provided that you are able to lock your bathroom, so no issues there! Owner Thomas was wonderful, hospitable and very helpful. Delicious provided every morning. We loved our stay We had a wonderful stay at the B&B Guest House Du Lac. We were impressed by the very welcoming & professional service. The owner even made a special arrangement for us, so we could have adjacent rooms on the third floor with direct access from the street, as my mother is using a walker and has great difficulties climbing stairs. Great view of the lake from the third floor. Only 3-5 minutes walking distance from Lac Leman. Thank you again !!! We are extremely happy with our stay, everything was up to par! We came here and was charged CHF 20 as parking fee.The bed is too hard and not comfortable. Because it is near the rail road, you can hear the nose outside. The hosts are nice. Generally it is not too bad but I personally suggests the contents of the parking should be the same or guests will think they are cheated. B&B Guest House Du Lac is....Fantastic place! Great location. Just only 20/25 minutes from Montreux train station, within walking distance to town and bus stop right outside if needed. Room does have a private kitchen and but the view from the window is only a wall... Service was alright but they locked the hotel at night and i had to wait for long time, at the end i had to leave my things in there and find different hotel where i could spend the night because i couldn't get inside...
