Only ate here, didn't stay overnight (but I would if I were to come back to climb the other Kalkkögel for a few days!). The Kaiserschmarrn wasn't too special but the Kasspressknödel with salad were delicious and presented nicely, too. The hut had a nice charm and the location below the Kalkkögel is something unique for this region, very reminiscent of the Dolomites. They are doing an excellent job. The Hut is not crowded, felling familiar and cozy. Food is really good. I will highly recommend for people who want to spend few days hiking around the area It was gorgeous. Very friendly people and delicious food !!! It was a very welcoming place after a strenuous bike ride. Highly recommended. Kind and quick service, very good food and a beautiful walk (but don't take the shortest way). I would recommend the brettljause! Probably an awesome hut, but their communication isn't great... I was on my way over there from Axamer Lizum. On my way over I found out the route was blocked. Tried calling them several times, as well as sent an email to see if there's other ways to get there in time eventually, all with no response... Other huts I was supposed to visit afterwards had better communication also concerning the weather. There will be a sudden and big change in weather starting tonight/tomorrow, after they adviced me not to come because it might be dangerous. So unfortunately I wasn't able to visit the hut at all, which I would have loved. Will probably try again next year, hopefully with better communication and better weather conditions Wonderful place! Andrea and Karen who run this hut are super friendly and helpful, they know every alp in the region. We stayed during a snow storm and it was amazing. Sights are breathtaking. Hope we get back soon.
