Replica of a late Stone Age village. We enjoyed our time here. There's a good exposition on Ötzi, the man who died on a mountain pass near here 5,000 years ago and was found in 1991 to yield a vast treasure of archeological insights. The village has a range of artifacts and dwellings that would have been used 5,000 years ago. It's entertaining and interesting. They also do tours and demonstrations. You get there with a short walk from the main parking by the swimming pond. Handicapped people can park at the Ötzi village. My points of criticism: the entry price I found a little high and the fact that they keep cows, pigs and sheep. Personally I avoid zoos. Also, the trout lake has no moving water so not suitable for trout, which are also invisible. And the various exhibits lack a written sign with expanded info on what you see there. There is an audio guide but I don't like them. I found this open-air museum as being of great educational value: prehistoric animals, artifacts, and houses brought together. We enjoyed everything here, and we all learned a lot about life in Paleolithic! The place could be easily reached by local bus line 320 (Umhausen Feuerwehr stop). We went there approximately 1h before one of the official tours. We spent watching the intro video and then we explored the rest guided. Our guide was outstanding. A lot of great information, well presented in a joyful and informative way. We all learned a ton. Thanks! A visit to this extraordinary place is a must when visiting the beautiful Ötztal Valley. In my opinion, the exhibition is significantly better than the one at the Ötztal Museum in Bolzen. You learn a lot about the person, but also about the region and the Neolithic period. For me personally it was a bit boring and to expensive for What it was! If you are in to this than it would be exciting for hou but it isnt for me! The only thing that might have been Nice for me where the animals and the bird show Interesting and great way to tell the story of Ötzi. We enjoyed the fire making and tools demonstrations outside. Kids loved the park. Do take cash for the cafe on site as it's cash only. We could have bought a lot more food and drink. So missing the mark here with tourists. Really a nice experience with huge eagels and owls flying just above your head. But beware the show explanation is in German. You have to buy separate tickets to the show. Otzi-Dorf was ok. Some parts looking a bit tired for the money you pay. Museum was interesting and children liked looking at the village. The bird of prey centre next door is the star attraction, the flight demonstration especially. Just do that if you need to make a choice.
