We did wine tasting and it was a great experience! Our tasting guide Pietro super friendly and professional. They were great with kids, getting juice tasting. Great food and stories to all the wines! A must try when you visit Abruzzo. Fantastic and with 360 views of the mountains, Gran Sasso and surrounding Abruzzo region. A 15-20 min drive to the beaches, half hour or so to Cheiti, or short day trip if you want to explore the mountains around. The grounds are beautiful, the pool refreshing and the staff is fantastic. The rooms are quaint and unique--not your usual run-of-the-mill hotel!! A great spot for creatives to gather fodder for a novel or a painting! My favourite feature were the whimsical, gold-painted flora and fauna found in random spots around the castle. Oh,and of course....the wine!!! The is very charming, with newly renovated rooms and a curated ambience. We booked two room types (a suite and an entry-rate double room), and both were spacious and comfortable with the expected amenities. Cleanliness was excellent. One minor inconvenience was the limited number of power outlets (I found only two near the bed and one in the bathroom). Breakfast was simple but pleasant. We also had dinner on-site and experienced an issue with billing and communication. We pre-booked a fixed menu for three people due to an event. On the day, one person became ill and did not eat (we only requested dry biscuits). At checkout, we were charged €35 for that person (instead of the full price €45), but we had not been informed in advance of any cancellation/no-show fee or partial charge policy. Overall, it’s a place, but the pricing felt high relative to the services and overall experience. Wow, so nice place. Staff was great especially the guy that takes care of the garden - a real hero, got a tour and story of the and garden that I will never forget. What makes it a 4/5 is the chef - dinner was not that good I’m sorry to say. Everything else 5/5! Magic place! Absolutely gorgeous place. Set in countryside this converted hosts brunch Sundays where you pay and eat as much of the lovely buffet style food as you want you can also drink wines from their award winning winery. It is a hotel too with bespoke rooms. They also do weddings and have concerts and wine tasting events through the year. Great place to spend a Sunday morning with friends. Staff are lovely and very helpful hilltop & winery. Breakfasts were good; set dinner menu & service excellent. Helpful reception. Garden seating in lovely grounds to enjoy Masciarelli wines. Highly recommmend. Where do I even begin? Castella Di Semivicoli is one of those dream accommodations that somehow manages to be even better in real life. From the stunning grounds to the beautifully designed rooms and incredible food, every detail is pure perfection. And speaking of the food breakfast each morning was unforgettable. It’s something I’ll be thinking about for a long time. A special shoutout to Pietro, who was truly one of the highlights of our stay. His thoughtful recommendations, warm conversations, and genuine hospitality made us feel like part of the family. I would highly recommend if you ever find yourself visiting Abruzzo! Our stay here was amazing! The staff was so kind and helpful, the itself was beautiful, the dinner restaurant was so yummy and convenient, and the breakfast was charming and adequate. We also partook of a wine tasting on site that was super special and tasty! The pool area is also lovely. The location is slightly inconvenient, but the hotel was able to help us arrange a car to get to nearest train station (Pescara). There is little do to in the area around the castle, so plan on just chilling on site! Staff went above and beyond! Thanks again! location! Attended a wedding here. Unfortunately we experienced Below average service, very defensive staff, rooms are sub par, and the hotel manager is rude. The restaurant is only open if you book in advance, so you cannot choose last minute. The wines are well priced but there is not much to do around the area. Do not recommend.
