We were on our way from San Sebastián to Madrid and we needed to stop for lunch. By chance this restaurant showed up on Google map and for adventure we headed towards it to find that we were greeted by a lovely restauranteur serving unexpectedly wholesome and fresh food. We enjoyed our meal so much that we are going to it again on our way back to San Sebastián! Stopped on the way randomly and were amazed by the quality and taste of the food. Very very good. We had a menu del día and it was just delicious. The prices super affordable We stopped here on our way to Santander looking for a menu del día. Instead we paid €24 for adults and €10/12 for children (perhaps regular menú del día is for weekdays, we were there on a Saturday). Plenty of choices and variety on the adult menu however we felt that the dishes were rushed. One of our kids had a chicken dish and it was entirely raw when we cut it open. They had to take it back to cook it longer. I had the squid dish which was presented beautifully but had a plastic piece in it which the waitress assumed was from the packaging the squid came in. Again two mistakes that could have been avoided with a little more attention and care. The alcachofas dish was bland and needed at the very least more salt. The cecina with pate filling was delicious and so were the desserts. I highly recommend this Restaurant. The serving was very generous and the customer service was excellent! Really good food and great service. We stopped there on the way from Madrid to La Rioja. The food and the service were amzing. Even the simplest dishes had a very special taste. A cozy restaurant, with good food, blending the traditional and modern. Good stop near the road. Very friendly couple working it. Reservations are a good idea on travelling days: call ahead to make sure you have a spot. Desserts are homemade and worth it. Hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious! Fresh, flavorful and abundant portions. Very well priced, too. Thank you!!!
