It's a decent University and the staff are really cool, with some top academics who have studied at the top universities. Most University across the country are pretty much the same, unless you go to a Russell group University. What you will find is that the lower tier Universities support there more and the higher caliber of Universities don't as it's more independent learning. But I really believe it really comes down to you as a student, if you work hard, listen to your teachers you can achieve great results. Discrimination, False Accusation, and Inflexibility at UOB Graduation 2022 Paulanthony Skerrett, QTLS (Son of Minister Marie Lake, Health and Social Care Graduate) Date of Experience: August 2022 (Graduation Ceremony) As a QTLS holder with over 30 years of teaching experience, I am fully aware of compliance, professional conduct, and discrimination law. This knowledge made my experience at the University of Bedfordshire (UOB) graduation ceremony for my mother, Minister Marie Lake, profoundly shocking. 1. Religious Discrimination (Minister Marie Lake) The Problem: My mother was denied the right to graduate because she wore a blue gown, which she chose because her sincerely held Religious Beliefs prohibit her from wearing Black or Red (the University's required gown colours). The Inflexibility: UOB staff, including Aduke Urhobo, chose rigid, unjustified policy over accommodation. They enforced a dress code that directly disadvantaged my mother due to her faith, a clear case of Indirect Discrimination under the Equality Act 2010. 2. False Accusation & Racial Stereotyping (Paulanthony Skerrett) When I intervened, fully aware of my mother's rights and the University's failure, the situation turned ugly: The Staff's Defensive Reaction: The University staff falsely reported that I "swore and threatened" them. The truth is, I was professionally asserting our position regarding discrimination. The staff felt "threatened" by my knowledge and confidence—not by any actual aggression or swearing. The Racial Bias: This false report was then used as the basis to punish my mother by refusing to send her graduation photos. We firmly believe this fabrication was rooted in racial stereotyping because I am Black. The staff sought to neutralize a professional challenge by reducing me to a harmful stereotype. Proof: We have witnesses, and CCTV footage will confirm the University's report of misconduct is untrue and defamatory. 3. Conclusion and Warning The University of Bedfordshire failed on every level. They breached their duty to accommodate religious belief and then compounded the issue by making a false, racially-biased disciplinary claim against me to deflect from their own failings. I urge any prospective student, especially those from protected groups, to consider that UOB demonstrated extreme inflexibility, a willingness to discriminate, and a readiness to engage in dishonest reporting to protect their administration. Ms. Mahvish Zahara, the lecturer for Project Management Theory and Practice at UOB, does not seem to have a proper understanding of basic project management theories. Her approach is unprofessional — she assumed I had used AI tools without any proof and gave me extremely low marks. Only after I provided evidence that I hadn’t used AI did she release my proper mark. This kind of assumption-based is unfair. Many who actually used AI received higher marks, showing inconsistency and bias in her evaluation. Because of her lack of knowledge and professionalism, are not getting the proper guidance or fair assessment they deserve. I would not recommend her as a suitable lecturer for this course. I'm extremely disappointed with the University of Bedfordshire's handling of my application. Despite multiple follow-ups, I experienced significant delays and yet not recieved my offer letter, which was not only frustrating but also raised concerns about the university's level of organization and responsibility. The lack of timely communication and apparent neglect of students' needs is concerning and raises questions about the university's commitment to supporting its students. This kind of irresponsible behavior can have serious implications for students' plans and opportunities, and I hope the university takes steps to improve its application process and student support. You have no one to talk to if you have a problem, no one answers, you go from one person to another and they don't answer your emails. I would like to share my honest feedback regarding the Project Management Theory and Practice course taught by Ms. Mahvish Zahara at the University of Bedfordshire. Unfortunately, my overall experience with this module was disappointing due to several key issues related to both teaching quality and practices. Firstly, I observed that Ms. Zahara lacks a strong understanding of the core theories and practical concepts of project management. Her lectures often felt unstructured, and explanations of important frameworks and methodologies were either unclear or missing depth. As a result, many students, including myself, found it difficult to connect theoretical principles to practical applications — something that is essential in a course of this nature. Secondly, there were serious concerns about the fairness and professionalism of the process. In my case, Ms. Zahara assumed that I had used AI tools for my assignment without any supporting evidence. Based on that assumption alone, she awarded me a very low grade. This was not only discouraging but also highly unprofessional. After I presented clear proof that I had not used any AI tools, she eventually adjusted my mark, but this incident reflected a lack of fairness and due diligence in her assessment process. Adding to the inconsistency, I became aware that some classmates who openly used AI received significantly higher marks, which raises questions about the uniformity of her evaluation criteria. Such inconsistent creates frustration among and undermines trust in the academic integrity of the course. Overall, I believe Ms. Zahara’s approach to teaching and needs serious review. Her limited subject knowledge, assumption-based evaluation, and lack of transparency in feedback are affecting the learning experience of students.
