Went for the first today,from Cople (01/07/25) for with friends on their recommendation. Breakfast was really nice and even had waffles as an added extra. Reasonably priced too 👍 Even though it was quiet it still had a atmosphere to it. The were polite and helpful. The Wilbury was very clean and tidy.While here they were even wiping the menus clean..not sure if many places do this. Will definitely go again with our 2 teenage boys to check out the Very service, Dave gave us a very welcome greeting and explained to us their menu options and gluten-free free. There is no gluten-free burger or pizza gluten-free option but they have an excellent with lots of veg and three meat options. I had a burger and the portion was generous. Reasonable price and comfortable seats. Parking is easy and just next to the doorstep. We will come back and they have different days with promotions. Loving their dog-friendly session and thanks again Dave with the water! Very nice roast dinner Thought we'd stop here after our spa day, as said they did a carvery. The pictures on the website looks amazing. We decided not to have the as it wasnt as we'd pictured. It was very quite, which meant we got served our food quickly, which was good. My food was ok, can't go wrong with a chicken burger. It was cheap and cheerful. Unfortunately, the colslaw wasn't edible, my partners beef burger wasn't great, thin beef patties. He ate it because he was hungry. No one checked in to see if our food was ok, if they had we would have let them know. Waited to be seated for a few minutes while the stood around talking. Look after the new guests as well as your regulars. The family and I visit regularly and never leave disappointed, amazing food,cheap prices, very staff, well worth a trip out. Came in for the breakfast, pleasantly greeted by Dave (who was a star) All the food on is delicious and the unlimited coffee is also very good Guaranteed to leave feeling fat if you have no self control like me Really food. Burgers are great, and the is really nice. They also do pizza and calzone, which I haven't tried yet, but intend to very shortly. They do daily specials and the half-price burgers on Mondays are fantastic. Very disappointed with today. Carvery was ok, then ordered 2 deserts and 1 Coffee via the app, waited half an hour and nothing arrived, I spoke to a waiter to try and chase them up as had to get back to work, shortly after, 2 deserts arrived, one was what we ordered, the other not what I ordered, Coffee never arrived. We left as had to get back to work. This meal was meant to be a treat, turned out a waste of over £40 Not visited The Wilbury for a while, previously have not been disappointed but on this occasion I was extremely let down. Went to the Wilbury for my daughters birthday, management and very welcoming and friendly. Food was perfect fresh veg and pots and tender beef gammon and turkey. We also had a Christmas meal which was great, we have re-booked for this Christmas already! We went for on 16/3/25 it was fantastic. We often go for a since the change of management but not been for breakfast. The welcome from Dave as always was great, inviting but not over the top, it felt genuine. The food was hot and well cooked with a selection. Warm welcome by Daniel today. We have always found the really nice and have enjoyed many Sunday roasts at the Wilbury.The food was as usual. We had a pizza making party , we had a very and attentive host Bea, she was very with the children and maintained a happy face throughout. All the were also so and it’s to attend a place that has customer from the whole team . All the children really enjoyed themselves. Pub was very warm and cozy, carvery. My favourite brownie was still on the menu and it was the best one I've had. It's nice to see that the new management are making an effort to turn the place around and we will definitely be regulars again. I haven’t been to the Wilbury for a long and was looking forward to returning to a bustling restaurant and wonderful with delicious food. Sadly, this was not our experience on this occasion. We were one of 3, maybe 4 tables yet had to wait for at the bar. were nowhere to be seen. We had booked and were advised we could sit wherever we liked, so we chose our table, but moved as we found it sticky and unclean. We knew we wanted so we went back to the bar to pay and went straight over to the to wait…and wait and wait and wait. Eventually a chef walked by us and let us know she wouldn’t be long(?!) There were 3 meats on offer and we were happy with the quality and the portion size. Sadly the same couldn’t be said for the vegetables. The roast potato pot had just a few left, they were basically solid and very uninviting, such a shame as this is usually the best bit of a carvery! Basic carrots, some dry looking mash, red cabbage and apple and some green beans, along with cauliflower cheese and the last of some gravy (I had to tip the pot to get the ladle under it) - it just didn’t feel like the usual bountiful and appealing offerings we’ve had in previous visits. All in all, we weren’t happy with the quality, we weren’t checked on at any point of our visit and are unlikely to return any soon. A big shame, as we’ve always enjoyed the before and having had an email advising of the £6 offer, we assumed it would be very busy , hence booking! this morning, really customer and atmosphere. A group of friends met for last Saturday. value for the price. The cooked selection was good, well cooked, The was great, were efficient and concerned for our needs.. A lot of us were drinking tea and they brought us a pot to save us fetching it ourselves. Some friends enjoyed pancakes. I had a roast there 2 weeks ago and it was lovely. We will be coming again. I must admit I had stopped going there. I'm glad there is new management. Was visiting a friend in the area so we popped in for lunch, the pizza was first class! And the were unreal!!! So attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and just brilliant! I wish I lived closer so I could frequent more often! Thank you so much for a wonderful time!!!! This has got to be the best restaurant for roast dinners. Wendy (boss I believe) went above and beyond for my family today. A few of us drove for over 2 hours as we have some family are in Letchworth and wanted a catch up, all 9 of us. The were faultless. I would never eat anywhere else when I come to visit again. Thank you so much Wendy. I hope you liked your flowers, you deserved them. Went for a lunch today, and the took such care of me. Due to my allergies they steamed fresh vegetables and made sure I was safe and my food was delicious. Five star too! We couldn’t recommend the restaurant more (: So we visited The Wilbury in Letchworth for the first in a few months. We were greeted at the door by the new owners Wendy and Dave who were probably THE most accommodating and people we have ever met. Wendy went above and beyond with engaging and helping to calm down my extremely feral children supplying them with goodie bags full of toys and colouring books and stickers etc to keep them entertained x Just by far the most lady - whilst we were getting the children’s food my youngest knocked over an entire drink - we only found out after my daughter told due to Dave being so quick to clean it all up. Every member of was smiling, accommodating and just it was by far the most relaxed dining experience we’ve had with our kids - what would have normally been an ‘eat and rush job’ of about 30 minutes ended in us staying for well over an hour, the kids begging to go back and me and my husband actually enjoying a meal out for the first in years x Thankyou so much Wendy and Dave for making us feel so relaxed and Wendy for being the kindest of people the way you went out of your way for us really was appreciated so very much x Probably worth mentioning that the food was absolutely spot on the best I think we’ve ever had and never have my youngest two ate so much! the husband said the Guinness was better poured than any pub his ever been to - a compliment in itself I can tell you x Honestly just so happy we visited and will definitely be back next week with the rest of my crew x Thankyou all so much 💗 Living locally we have visited for years and this place has always been hit and miss. But after our recent experience it seems apparent that the new owners seem to really be turning the place around. I arrived for 30 minutes before they finished serving expecting there to not be much left however, whilst we were dishing up our food all of a sudden more and more food was brought out and we were spoilt for choice. Food was and exactly what you would expect for the price. We were also pleasantly surprised when the slot finished and a gentleman went over to every table to check if anyone wanted anything before they cleared it away. were all incredibly helpful and seem to be fully supported by management which makes all the difference. We are looking forward to our next visit, it was nice to experience such a warm environment in there again. Disgusting the burger tasted like a farm and I mean horse manure made me feel sick got my order wrong and had to wait for a new meal they said but instead just warm up my burger add burned bacon and thats it this place is probably only for a other then that I wouldn’t Recommend a meal here until they find a chef that can put love into their food My husband, RuthI and our friend Norah had a lunch each on Sunday 23/03/2025. Daniel assisted us and we want to say what a personality and helpful person he was. We will definitely go again because if him, but also because we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Thank you The atmosphere is dead, hardly any either and the server was very dull and grumpy. The food wasn't cooked well and the food variety was very limited. I feel as though the money spent was not worth it. , thanks to the Wilbury , morning with the lads.
