Great tour Interessant, spannend und auch sehr informativ. Die Führung war gut gestaltet und hat einen mit in die Zeit des mittelalterlichen Bergbaus mitgenommen. Die Gänge sind teilweise sehr eng, dies sollte man sich vorab bewusst sein. Das Schaubergwerk Leogang war heute wirklich ein Highlight. Super interessante Führung (wir waren sogar die Einzigen). Wir haben echt viel über Bergbau gelernt. Für Kinder unter 6-7 würden wir es eher nicht empfehlen (aufgrund des Weges, teils große Treppen, enge, steile Stufen), auch nicht für Menschen die Probleme in engen Räumen bekommen oder die sehr groß sind (1,90m+). Für alle anderen ist die ca eine Stunde dauernde Tour wirklich toll, es ist erfrischend kühl (lange Sachen anziehen). Weiteres Highlight: das Restaurant nebenan. Super leckeres Essen (Kaiserschmarrn extrem gut, Apfelküchle aber es gibt auch Herzhaftes), sehr freundlicher Service, saubere WCs und ein toller Kinderspielplatz! The guide seems passionate and knowledgeable, but unfortunately was not available for our questions... we wait in front of him for 10min. The audioguide is ok but it's the only small thing in English. Great place to pause before or after a hike. Super friendly staff! We visited the mine on a TUE, but it is worth noticing that on WED they do guided tours for kids. Entry is free for holders of the Kaprun SommerKarte. The guided tour is in DE, but there are audio guides available in EN. Our guide, Harald, was a former miner and offerred us incredible insight into the life and work of miners, both in the recent and the distant past. You have to walk a bit up to the entry, and then prepare for a one hour journey into a hole. Luckily the mine is lit, there are stairs, unlike in the distant past. The galleries are however very narrow and at times quite small, too. The way up is at times a bit strenuous. The visit itself is very rewarding especially if you have an interest in mining at all. Chilly inside, 7-8 deg, so best to do on a hot day. Usually tours are at 11, 13 and 15.00. Remember to call in advance and book! Tip your guide you liked the tour.
