Highly recommend not to use the 801-road from Sofia as there are numberless deep holes! This exceeded my expectations. I felt sorry I didn't have more time for it. A must, must visit in Bulgaria! Amazing exhibition with artefacts from different ages showing the history of the region and Bulgaria in general. A must visit if you are in Panagyurishte. Good museum, especially the Treasure is worth seeing Great place to learn about Bulgaria history. The best exhibition of Panagyurishte Treasure and Bulgarian architecture Very cool. Signs are Bulgarian along with English. The place might be a bit confusing with the different buldings A must see for both visitors and Bulgarians. The Panagyurishte gold treasure is absolutely breathtaking! Very interesting museum. Panagyurishye is a very important place in Bulgaria historically and here you can learn about the revolution and the uprising against the ottoman turks in the 19th century It’s a big which consist of a few houses. The first one is all for the Panagyurishte Treasure - ancient gold treasure dating from 3rd century before Christ. The includes the Dudekova’s house - a house in Bulgarian renaissance style with an interesting story from back then. The third house is for maybe the most important event of the Bulgarian history- the April uprising. There are many exponents of weapons and clothes from that time and many real ones. There is a nice little park between the houses and in the corner of it you can see recreation of a Bulgarian renaissance street The entrance fee for students and elderly is 4BGN and for adults is 6BGN. This option includes a pass for all of the museums of Panagyurishte and a map of the town on the back of the pass. The other option is 1BGN cheaper. There is plenty of text everywhere and media guides in Bulgarian and English. The service is kind and helpful, but it’s probably that they don’t speak a lot of English. The is equipped with facilities for disabled people.
