Small place at the feet of mountain and a castle. They serve fresh oysters from a few houres before...and the they got FAST WiFi!!! Witch is not always available in the region. Nice little town, medieval fortress and walls, lots of steps and long hike Fantastic place to visit away from the crowds of Dubrovnik, but within a 1 hour scenic drive. The walk on the historic Wall takes about an hour (1 way) and costs about €9 per person. It has lots of steps so carry some water on a hot day! Wonderful history, scenery and food awaits - the local oysters are outstanding. Very nice views over the Adriatic, better be in good shape to climb the stairs all the way up. Use correct footwear too. Historical tourist attraction. Very good for hikers. Bring appropriate shoes because you’ll have a bit of a walk. If you want to visit also the inside of the fortress note that it has a fee entrance. Nice surroundings as well. If you visit the area don’t miss the place. Great to visit, steps were a bit hard but if you take your time and are normally fit, no problem! The view was very good!! If you will not go to the walls... you can just walk around near... see these pisc. so, it is better go come here early in the morning (if you are travelling in summer, to avoid heat) and go upwards to the walls, and to the other side if the city. Very nice place to visit. We enjoyed a walk with our 15 months old son here. A beautiful small town by the sea with a great historical tradition, as if we have returned several centuries back. In addition to the wonderful historical heritage, it also offers an excellent gastronomic offer, where there are some of the most famous restaurants in this part of the Adriatic. We went to Ston today for the second time to see the museum, the town, and so on, and to have lunch. It would be a great stopover for many motorhome travelers on he way to the south, bringing revenue to the town. Unfortunately, once again we couldn’t find a parking spot. There are plenty of bus parking spaces, which are always about 80% empty, but not a single parking space for motorhomes. Parking on the bus spaces is forbidden for motorhomes unless you pay €10 per hour. The car parking spaces are either full or too tight for motorhomes. Maybe we’ll give it a third try, but most likely next time we’ll just drive past on the main road. It seems they don’t need the money from camper travelers here. Well, then we’ll just spend our money elsewhere – thanks to the municipality of Ston!
