On the way to the cove entrance, you’ll pass many stores, restaurants, snacks, so plenty of options to eat/shop. The itself was about 50 minutes. First part is a short ride for about 10-15 minutes, then you get off and walk a bit thru the for another 10-15 minutes, and then get on the same for the last part back. Great location but it's overcrowded at least 40 motorhomes parked everywhere. There are only 10 allocated places. This is motorhoming 2025, trailer parks and rude people. Decided to do this when my mum came on holiday to see us, it was only a 40 min Drive away from us, easy to find with signposts all the way when you get off the motorway, free parking , the price was cheap as well 15 euros for adults and 10 for pensioners and the trip was a good 45 mins, a little walk and then you get into the for a lovely of the caves. However, there is evidence that the was inhabited over 15,000 years ago (in the Upper Paleolithic), as demonstrated by the paintings and remains found inside. The proximity of an Iberian settlement also indicates that the was known and explored during that time, as well as during the long Roman domination, and it even served as a natural refuge during the Civil War. It was a very nice and short ride in the caves. There's a small part where you also walk. We did it with our 19 month old and she really enjoyed it, it was just the right amount of for a always moving toddler. Cool experience! It’s beautiful and peaceful on your ride in the caves. They do not allow photos but we were able to take photos at one point which was a nice memory. The coves complex is huge and has many amenities, refreshments, restaurants, playgrounds, bathrooms, and etc. loved the free parking too! One thing our family was a little bummed about was the was in English and Spanish but I would say 99% in Spanish. We would only get a few word descriptions or a single word so we had to google facts and the history when we left the caves. They do take group photos as you enter the tour. I don’t normally purchase these type of photos but since it was limited photos, we did and the photo was great quality and a very fair price! We couldn’t buy tickets online directly as they were sold out for weeks. I really wanted to go so we nearly paid €50+ euro’s per head but we didn’t need transfers as we had a rental car and was also travelling on from Valencia to Barcelona. In the end we was late leaving the Vila so didn’t book the excursion tour. We decided to go and see if we could get tickets in person. We were very lucky as got the last 4 tickets for the day. (It was around 12.45.pm) we went and had a nice slow lunch then went and got an icecream. We then had a look around the tourist shops and drove to the top of the mountain to check out the views. Then it was to go back and go in the caves. They were fantastic. I would have loved to of been able to take more pictures though. didn’t speak lots of English but she tried. Majority was only in Spanish. Didn’t help that when she did speak in English there was another family that was so loud you couldn’t tell what the lovely was saying. Facilities; lots of nice restaurants and food, clean toilets small kids play park. Shops and market stalls. Absolutely amazing. The view up the steps was worth the climb. The was spectacular. Loves this place. Would definitely when visiting València. If you do not have a car book an excursion if travelling from València as it’s difficult to get a taxi and more expensive. You are allowed to take pictures but only when permitted at one point in the trip. I would've liked to spend more in the just checking out the but you are moved through the waters by a guide. In an area filled with ancient ruins and such old history, it's crazy to think they just found these in the middle of the 20th century. They were truly explored only in the 1960s. They still don't know how big it is, where it starts, and where it ends. Worth the hour's trip from Valencia to visit. Great place, worth all the money, kayaks are great. Do not be afraid if you came earlier and it is closed there, just wait for your and the workers will come, many left and in vain. My wife and I are staying in Peñíscola for a week and saw that this place was pretty close. It was absolutely worth the hour drive to it. The staff were friendly and accommodating with my weak attempts at Spanish; most spoke enough English that we were able to communicate well. The was beautiful and a very unique for us. After the Coves of Sant Josep the Segarra shoe factory is worth seeing. They have a small shoe museum and sell shoes manufactured there at factory prices 🤩 Beautiful in a wonderful little town. There are so many great places to eat and drink a beer or wine. Be sure to get your tickets online before you visit as it was sold out our first try. We did the which was about 45 minutes and then went to eat. After lunch we hiked on a few of the many trails. Our friends drove their camper van and were able to camp easily.
