What an unexpectedly big waterfall and canyon along this tranquil forest path! It's a lovely (easy) hike along a bustling creek. The sound of the whitewater and chirping of birds is a lovely soundtrack for this relaxing walk with some historical sites on the route. There is limited parking on either end of the hiking route, so if it's busy, your best bet is Letten parking in Bäretswil. A pleasant hike up to see the waterfall and the ruins of the industrial waterworks from the late 19th and early 20th century. An impressive tower with its history clearly explained (in German only) I think it's a nice forest with couple of nice waterfalls. Recommended to walk around and see the nature. The Kemptnertobel is an amazing trail for Mountaibikes, starting with a double stair set. Terrain wise, there is rootgardens, rockgardens, a bunch of bridges to clear the river and a few uphill parts. Mainly it is slightly downhill, though. There are some parts that are always wet, even during summer, a most welcome cool down splash every now and then. It does take some biking skills, as the roots and rocky parts can get ruff. If you can handle forest paths, you will be fine. Just be aware that it is for bikes as well as hikers so stay alert and keep it fair. Nice place to walk around and enjoy the nature into the same city Went there on a beautiful autumn day. Had a bit of problems finding a parking space but finally found some public spaces on Tobelweg. Went into the forest going up (the mountain bike route) and came to a bridge with smaller waterfalls. Then took the non mountain bike route down and came to the bigger waterfall. Very nice and scenic pretty. Walked from there through the woods to Tobelweg and there are tree sculpture carvings on the way. Good for a short visit. Not convenient for strollers. A compact hiking&biking with lots of view and points close by to Zurich. There are lots of grill spots and viewpoints. Waterfalls, a pond an a historical tower. Worth to visit. An absolutely wonderful place for a walk.
